4pda.to–ն գրում է, որ Գերմանիայի Ֆրաունհոֆեր ինստիտուտի հետազոտողները ստեղծել են ինքնամաքրվող ծածկույթով արևային մարտկոց։ Միևնույն ժամանակ, ինչ-որ տեղ հեռու՝ միայնակ Կարմիր մոլորակի վրա, InSight մարսագնացը «լացեց»՝ ավարտեց իր միսիան, նրան «մեռած» ճանաչեցին արևային մարտկոցների վրա կուտակված փոշու պատճառով։
Նոր մշակման հիմնական բաղադրիչը տիտանի օքսիդն էր, որն իր նորմալ վիճակում հեշտ սահող կաթիլներ ձևավորելով, երբ հեղուկ է լցվում վրան, ցուցադրում է հիդրոֆոբ հատկություններ: Այնուամենայնիվ, երբ տիտանի օքսիդը ենթարկվում է ուլտրամանուշակագույն ճառագայթման, այն սկսելով ուժեղ ձգել ջուրը դառնում է հիդրոֆիլ, որը խոնավ է պահում մակերեսը։ Սա նշանակում է, որ փոշին և կեղտը, որոնք կուտակվում են օրվա ընթացքում, չեն կարող կպչել մակերեսին, քանի որ ջրի բարակ շերտը պահում է դրանք, իսկ գիշերը ջուրը հավաքվում է կաթիլների տեսքով, որոնք հեշտությամբ գլորվում են իրենց հետ տանելով կեղտը: Ավելին, տիտանի օքսիդը ոչնչացնում է օրգանական մոլեկուլները արդյունավետորեն մանրէազերծելով մակերեսը։
Փորձի ընթացքում թիմը հաջողությամբ օգտագործել է փորձնական սարք՝ 30 սմ լայնությամբ, 20 մ երկարությամբ և 100 միկրոմետր հաստությամբ բարակ ապակու գլանափաթեթների տեսքով, որոնք պատված էին մինչև 150 նանոմետր հաստությամբ տիտանի օքսիդով: Ցավոք, այս մեթոդը ներառում է նյութի փխրունություն և ջերմության նկատմամբ խոցելիություն, սակայն թիմն արդեն իսկ աշխատում է այդ խնդիրների լուծման վրա: Հետազոտության արդյունքները կներկայացվեն այս տարվա ապրիլին Մյունխենում կայանալիք BAU ցուցահանդեսում:
