Հելսինկիի ոստիկանությունը նախնական հետաքննություն է սկսել Թուրքիայի դեսպանատան մոտ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի լուսանկարի այրման առնչությամբ: Այս մասին հայտնել է ֆիննական HS թերթը։ 

Ակցիան անցկացվել է անցած կիրակի Հելսինկիում Թուրքիայի դեսպանատան դիմաց։ Մասնակիցներն այրել են Թուրքիայի նախագահի լուսանկարը։ Այս մասին տեղեկություն է հայտնվել սոցցանցերում։ Չորս մարդ բերման է ենթարկվել։

Հունվարի վերջին աջ ծայրահեղական «Կոշտ կուրս» կուսակցության ղեկավար Ռասմուս Պալուդանը Կոպենհագենի տարբեր վայրերում այրել է Ղուրանի երեք գիրք։ Առաջին գիրքն այրվել է Կոպենհագենի հյուսիս-արևմտյան թաղամասում գտնվող Դորտևեյ փողոցի մզկիթում, մյուսը այրվել է Էստերբրոյում Թուրքիայի դեսպանատան մոտ, իսկ երրորդը այրվել է Ռուսաստանի հյուպատոսարանի մոտ։

Պալուդանի նախորդ ակցիան տեղի է ունեցել հունվարի 21-ին Ստոկհոլմում Թուրքիայի դեսպանատան դիմաց, որտեղ նա նաև հրապարակային այրել է Ղուրանի պատճենը։ Ընդ որում, Շվեդիայի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Թոբիաս Բիլստրոմն այս առնչությամբ նշել էր, որ իրենց երկրում խոսքի ազատություն է։ Նմանատիպ ակցիա անցկացվել է նաև Նիդեռլանդներում։ Արաբական երկրներն ու կազմակերպությունները դատապարտել են սադրանքները։ Անկարան հայտարարել է, որ ակցիան համաձայնեցվել է Շվեդիայի իշխանությունների հետ և նրանց աջակցությամբ։ Տեղի ունեցածի ֆոնին Թուրքիան հրաժարվել է հաստատել ՆԱՏՕ-ին անդամակցելու Շվեդիայի դիմումը։ Թուրքիայի ԱԳՆ-ն նաև իր մոտ է կանչել Նորվեգիայի դեսպանին փետրվարի 3-ին Ղուրանը պղծելու ակցիայի պատճառով և բողոքել նրա դեմ։
