ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղարության խոսնակ Նեդ Փրայսը ճեպազրույցում անդրադարձել է Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի հարաբերությունների կարգավորման գործընթացում Ռուսաստանի և ԱՄՆ-ի միջնորդական ջանքերին:
Լրագրողը Փրայսին հարց հղելիս ասել է, որ ՌԴ ԱԳՆ ղեկավար Սերգեյ Լավրովը Ադրբեջան կատարած այցի ժամանակ հասկացրել է, որ խնդիրը լուծելու ավելի լավ միջոց է ռուսական միջնորդական ջանքերին հավատարիմ մնալը:
«Ուստի ես ուզում եմ, որ պարզաբանեք, թե ինչո՞ւ Արևմուտքի միջնորդությունը պետք է առաջընթաց ունենա», - հետաքրքրվել է լրագրողը:
«Սա հենց կողմերի (որոշելու) հարցն է, և մենք չենք պատրաստվում միջնորդության որևէ այլ առաջարկի դեմ կանգնել, և իրականում մենք միջնորդ չենք։ Մենք երկու երկրների գործընկերն ենք։ Կարծում եմ՝ մենք և՛ խոսքով, և՛ գործով ցույց ենք տվել երկու երկրների հետ մեր հարաբերությունների բնույթը, երկու երկրներին միավորելու մեր կարողությունը, մեր ցանկությունն ու պատրաստակամությունը՝ օգնելու լրացուցիչ առաջընթաց ապահովել Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև հարաբերություններում։
Մենք դա չենք անում որպես Մոսկվայի հետ մրցելու միջոց։ Մենք դա անում ենք՝ ձգտելով հասնելու այս երկու երկրների միջև երկարատև վեճի կարգավորմանն ու լուծմանը, և, ցավոք, մի վեճի, որը հետևողականորեն մարդկային կյանքեր է խլում, ինչպես դա տեղի ունեցավ մարտի 5-ին: Մեր շահն այստեղ խաղաղությունը և անվտանգությունն են։ Դա բխում է նաև Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի ժողովրդի շահերից», - ասել է Փրայսը:
