Պաշտպանության նախկին փոխնախարար Արտակ Զաքարյանը ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում գրել է․
«Եթե մինչև աշուն հայ ժողովուրդը չկարողանա (կամ չցանկանա) իշխանությունից հեռացնել Նիկոլին, ապա 2024թ.ստիպված է լինելու է ընդունել նոր լայնածավալ, պատերազմի մարտահրավերը: Կարողանալու՞ ենք դիմագրավել այդ պատերազմին, թե ո´չ` դժվար է ասել:
Կյանքն արդեն ապացուցել է, որ պատերազմի պատճառը ոչ թե Արցախն է կամ Սյունիքը, կամ Ջերմուկն ու Սոթքը, այլ Նիկոլն է: Հիմա միայն անգրագետը չի հասկանա այս պարզ ճշմարտությունը:
Պարտության և կապիտուլյացիայի սիմվոլ Նիկոլը, մինչև ականջներն արդեն խրվել է բանակցային ճահիճի մեջ, որտեղ ոչ մի հենարան կամ կախման կետ այլևս չունի: Ինչպես դիպըկ բնութագրել է Սերժ Սարգսյանը, Նիկոլը հիմա ոչ թե բանակցում է, այլ գտնվում է տարբեր ազդեցության կենտրոնների ճնշման տակ, և ստիպված է լինում հակասական, հաճախ նաև այսուայն կողմ շպրտվող քաղաքականություն վարել: Արդյունքում նա հեռացել է Արցախի ու Հայաստանի նվազագույն շահերը հետապնդող բոլոր հնարավոր նպատակակետերից: Իսկ այսպես կոչված խաղաղության օրակարգի ժամանակն արդեն սպառվում է, իր հետ սպառելով նաև դրան հասնելու պոտենցիալ երաշխիքներն ու սակավ ռեսուրսները:
Նիկոլի «դիվանագիտական» անմիտ մանեվրներն ու «քաղաքական» տվայտանքներն այլևս առոչինչ են: Դրանք գործել և գործում են ի վնաս հայ ժողովրդի: Նույնիսկ 2021թ. ամռանը Հայաստանի բանակցային դիրքերը, Արցախի ու ՀՀ անվտանգության և կայուն խաղաղության հասնելու հարցերում, ավելի նպաստավոր էին, քան հիմա է:
2021թ. վերընտրելով Նիկոլին, Հայաստանը կորցրեց արժանապատիվ խաղաղություն ունենալու հնարավորությունը: Ավելին` Նիկոլի շնորհիվ Հայաստանը կորցնում է նաև իր ռազմավարական միակ դաշնակցին, միջազգային մյուս գործընկերներին ու աջակիցներին: Փոխարենը` Ադրբեջանն է ընդլայնում իրեն աջակցող երկրների շրջանակը:
Վերջին պահին փոխելով բանակցողին, գոնե հնարավոր կլինի խուսափել նոր պատերազմից ու ցեղասպանական ռիսկերից: Բացի այդ, կան իրավիճակից դուրս գալու տարբերակներ, բանակցային ռեալ օրակարգեր, վերափոխվող միջազգային հարաբերություններում ի հայտ եկող նոր շահեր ու հնարավորություններ, որոնցից Հայաստանը կարող է օգտվել: Դրան հասնելու համար պետք է փոխվի գլխավոր բանակցողին ու բանակցային թիմը, ովքեր կաշկանդված չեն լինի պարտության ուղիղ պատասխանատվության ու Նիկոլի վարած ակնհայտ սխալ քաղաքականության ընթացքով:
Հայաստանին ու Արցախին սպասվող տագնապալի ապագան ազդարարող բոլոր կարմիր լույսերն արդեն վառվում են: Ժամանակն աշխատում է ոչ թե տարիով, այլ ամիսներով: Այսպես շարունակելու դեպքում համարեք ,որ Թուրքիային ու Ադրբեջանին այլևս ոչինչ չի խանգարելու Հայաստանի ու Արցախի վրա հարձակվելու համար»:
