Մայրությունը, համոզված եմ, ամենամեծ երջանկությունն է և կնոջ համար ամենակարևոր դերը: Մենք՝ տղամարդիկս, երբեք չենք հասկանա, թե ինչ է զգում ապագա մայրը, երբ կյանք է տալիս իր երեխային: Հնարավոր չէ պատկերացնել ցավի այն աստիճանը, որ մայրն զգում է զավակին կորցնելիս: Ու մենք ամեն ինչ պետք է անենք, որ ապագայում մայրերը չսգան պատերազմների հետևանքով զոհված իրենց զավակների կորուստը:
Հայաստանում կան անձինք, որոնք կարծում են, թե իբր հայ կանայք դժբախտ են: Դա այդպես չէ: Հայ կանայք իսկապես սիրված են, նրանք շատ լավ գիտեն ինչ են երջանկությունը և ընտանեկան արժեքները: Այլ բան է, որ մեր հասարակությունում կանանց դերը լիարժեք գնահատված չէ. նրանք շատ հաճախ լուռ առաջնորդներ են, որոնք իրենց փխրուն ուսերին հսկայական բեռ և մեծ պատասխանատվություն են կրում: Մենք ամեն օր տեսնում ենք, թե ինչպես են նրանք տղամարդկանց հետ հավասար աշխատում, անքուն գիշերներ անցկացնում օրորոցների մոտ, ընտանեկան տաքուկ մթնոլորտ ստեղծում իրենց ընտանիքներում, և որտեղ էլ լինենք, մենք գիտենք, որ մեզ միշտ սպասելու է մայրական ջերմ գիրկը:
Ես հիշում եմ իմ տատիկին, որը 17 տարեկանում արդեն մայր է դարձել, 35 տարեկանում՝տատիկ, 53-ում՝ ծոռ ուներ, իսկ 87-ում՝ նախատատիկ էր: Նրա որդին բարձր պաշտոն էր զբաղեցնում, բայց ինձ մշտապես զարմացնում էր այն, թե ինչպիսի հմտությամբ ու իմաստնությամբ է նա կարգավորում ընտանեկան բոլոր հարցերը՝ զգացնել չտալով այդ մասին և երբեք չբարձրացնելով ձայնը:
Կցանկանայի, որ տղամարդիկ պահպանեն ու գնահատեն կանանց՝ հաշվի առնելով նրանց հատուկ փխրունությունն ու, միաժամանակ, ոգու ամրությունը, և ուրախության ու երջանկության ավելի շատ առիթներ պարգևեն՝ ոչ միայն տոնական օրերին ծաղիկներ նվիրելով, այլև նրանց նկատմամբ ամենօրյա հարգանքով ու երախտագիտությամբ:
