83 տարեկան հասակում իր մահկանացուն կնքեց ՀՀ վաստակավոր ճարտարապետ, Հայաստանի պետական և ՀՀ նախագահի մրցանակների դափնեկիր, Ճարտարապետության և շինարարության Հայաստանի ազգային համալսարանի ճարտարապետական նախագծման և ճարտարապետական միջավայրի դիզայնի ամբիոնի վարիչ, դոկտոր ,պրոֆեսոր Գարրի Հայկի Ռաշիդյանը: Այս մասին տեղեկացնում է ՀՀ քաղաքաշինության նախարարության մամուլի ծառայությունը:

Ծնվել է 1933թ. հունվարի 5-ին: 1957թ. ավարտել է Երևանի պոլիտեխնիկական ինստիտուտի ճարտարապետության բաժինը և անցել աշխատանքի Հայպետնախագիծ, ապա Հայաստանի ճարտարապետության և շինարարության գիտահետազոտական ինստիտուտներում: 1966թ.ավարտելով Մոսկվայի Ճարտարապետական ինստիտուտի ասպիրանտուրան աշխատել է Ճարտարապետական կրթության ասպարեզում, համատեղելով աշխատանքը գործունեության այլ ոլորտներում: Նա գործունեության լայն ընդգրկման նախագծող ճարտարապետ էր, գիտնական, մանկավարժ:

1977-1993թթ. ղեկավարել է Երևանի պետական միութենական նախագծային ինստիտուտը: Նրա նախագծերով իրականացվել են բազմաբնույթ կառույցներ՝ քաղաքաշինական կազմավորումներ, բնակելի և հասարակական շենքեր, գիտաարտադրական համալիրներ, որոնցից առավել նշանակալիներն են Էջմիածնի համաքաղաքային կենտրոնը, Ավան-Առինջ բնակելի շրջանը, հաղթանակի 40-ամյակին նվիրված պուրակային հուշահամալիրը Երևանում, սոցիալապես մատչելի նոր տիպի կացարաններ ԼՂՀ-ի պայմաններում, Դավիթաշենի հանգստի գոտին, փորձարարական արտադրամասով շինարարական կոստրուկտորական բյուրոն Աբովյանում և այլն: Նրա հրատարակած ավելի քան 120 գիտական հոդվածներն ու ճարտարապետության արդի խնդիրներին նվիրված 5 գիրք-մենագրությունները կարևոր ներդրում էին ճարտարապետության տեսության և մասնագիտական կրթության ասպարեզում: Իր հրապարակախոսական հոդվածներով անդրադառնում էր մասնագիտական վիճահարույց հիմնահարցերի: Մասնագիտական գիտելիքների խորությունն ու նախագծման փորձը հիմք հանդիսացան ճարտարապետական կրթության գործընթացը կատարելագործելու, առավել բարձր որակ ապահովելու համար: Նրա ուսանող դիպլոմնիկներից առավել քան 40-ը արժանացել են համամիութենական, ապա և միջազգային  ստուգատես-մրցույթների բարձրագույն դիպլոմների:

Գարրի Ռաշիդյանն իր ջերմ գթառատ  խառնվածքի, բարեկիրթ վարքագծի շնորհիվ սիրված էր գործընկերների և ուսանողների միջավայրում: Նա Հայաստանի ճարտարարապետների միության և ճարտարապետության միջազգային ակադեմիայի անդամ էր: Նա բազմիցս ընտրվել է ՀՃՄ վարչության և մասնագիտական բազմաթիվ խորհուրդների անդամ: Ստեղծագործական նվաճումների համար նա արժանացել է շքանշանների ու մեդալների, ՀԽՍՀ Գերագույն խորհրդի և ՀՀ վարչապետի պատվոգրերի:

Իր գործի նվիրյալ ճարտարապետ Գարրի Ռաշիդյանն անմոռանալի հետք թողեց իր ապրած ժամանակի հայ ճարտարապետության ասպարեզում: Մեզանից հեռացավ իր գործին անմնացորդ նվիրված, քաղաքացիական պարտքի բարձր գիտակցությամբ օժտված հայ մտավորական: Նրա հիշատակը վառ կմնա ճանաչողների լայն շրջանում:
