Երեկ Գյումրին խորը ցավով հրաժեշտ տվեց 23-ամյա Արթուր Սահակյանին: Խիզախ երիտասարդը զոհվեց ապրիլի 11-ին, Սյունիքի մարզի Տեղ համայնքում՝ հայրենիքը պաշտպանելիս: Արթուր Սահակյանի ընտանիքը 10 տարի առաջ էր Ջավախքի Դամալա գյուղից Գյումրի տեղափոխվել: Նա ընտանիքի միակ որդին էր:

Հարազատների վիշտն անասելի է, եւ դեռ պատրաստ չեն խոսել  իրենց քաջ որդու մասին, փոխարենը Արթուրի ընկերներն են որոշ դրվագներ հիշում եւ արցունքախառն պատմում: Ընկերների պատմելով՝ դեպքից օրեր առաջ էր Արթուրը զանգահարել իրենց: Իրենց տեղեկություններով՝  թշնամու զինվորների հետ ձեռնամարտի բռնված տղաներից մեկն էլ Արթուրն է եղել:

Զրույցները սովորաբար կարճ են տևել, հուսադրել է շարունակ բոլորին, թե այնտեղ ամեն ինչ կարգին է: Արթուրը «Պատիվ ունեմ» ծրագրով էր բանակ մեկնել: Դպրոցն ավարտելուց հետո միաժամանակ սովորել է եւ Երևանի պետական համալսարանի միջազգային հարաբերություններ բաժնում, եւ Վազգեն Սարգսյանի անվան ռազմական համալսարանում:Ընկերներն հիացմունքով են պատմում, թե քանի լեզվի էր տիրապետում Արթուրը, որքան վարժ էր խոսում արաբերեն, 23 տարեկան էր, բայց հասցրել էր լեյտենանտի կոչում ստանալ: Արթուր Սահակյանը Համահայկական ազգային հայրենասիրական երիտասարդական նախաձեռնություն համահիմնադիրներից էր:

«Մեր Արթուրը Ջավախքից է։ Սա ասում ենք, որպեսզի իմանաք, որ նա ընտրության հնարավորություն ուներ. և նա իր ընտրությունն արել էր հանուն հայրենիքի։ Արթուրը Համահայկական ազգային հայրենասիրական երիտասարդական նախաձեռնություն համահիմնադիրներից է, ՀԱՀԵՆ Կառավարման Խորհրդի անդամ մեր նախաձեռնության առաջին օրից։ Արթուրը մեր ոգին էր, մեր կենսուրախությունն ու ժպիտը։ Նա մեծագույն պատրաստակամությամբ երիտասարդ էր հայրենիքին նվիրված բոլոր հարցերում։ Իսկական նախաձեռնող էր՝ իր անվանն ու արյանը արժանի։
Նա կռվեց մինչև վերջ՝ վստահ մի համոզմամբ, որ հայրենիքի պաշտպանությունը ոչ թե խոսքով, այլ գործով է արվում։ Իսկ նրա գործերն առավել քան խոսուն են՝ գերազանց ուսանող՝ դիվանագետ դառնալու ու այդ ճակատում ևս կռվելու վճռականությամբ, հայրենասեր նախաձեռնող՝ այլոց ոգևորելու և գործի գցելու կամքով, գաղափարական մարտիկ ու անզիջում հերոս։ Այսօրվանից մեր պատասխանատվությունը հարյուրապատկվում է՝ շարունակել անել այն, ինչ անում էինք, անել այն, ինչ Արթուրը կաներ։ Երբ այսուհետ կլսեք մեր նախաձեռնության մասին, հիշեք ու փառք տվեք նորօրյա հերոս, գաղափարի նվիրյալ մարտիկ և անձնազոհ Արթուր Սահակյանին, ով գործնականում իրականացրեց մեր երեք հիմքերի վրա դրված գաղափարախոսությունը. ինքնաճանաչ ու հայրենաճանաչ երիտասարդը դարձավ հայրենատեր»,- նշում են ՀԱՀԵՆ-ից:
