Ապրիլի 18-ը Հուշարձանների և տեսարժան վայրերի միջազգային օրն է: Արցախի ԿԳՄՍՆ-ն հայտարարություն է տարածել․
«Մեր բազմադարյա պատմության վկաներ հանդիսացող պատմամշակութային կոթողները թշնամու կողմից տարբեր ժամանակներում պարբերաբար ենթարկվել են ասպատակությունների ու բռնայուրացման: Ցավոք, 44-օրյա պատերազմը ևս մեծ հարված հասցրեց Արցախի պատմամշակութային ժառանգությանը: Եթե մինչև 2020 թվականը Արցախում մոտ 4118 վկայագրված հուշարձան կար, այսօր դրանցից շուրջ 2000-ը մնացել է Ադրբեջանի կողմից բռնազավթված տարածքներում (այդ թվում՝ մոտ 169 եկեղեցի, վանական համալիր և մատուռներ): Թշնամու վերահսկողության տակ են մնացել նաև մեր պատմամշակութային արգելոցները:
Բռնազավթված տարածքների հուշարձանների պահպանության առնչությամբ բազմաթիվ նամակներ են հղվել համապատասխան կառույցներին, որոնք կոչված են զբաղվել հակամարտության գոտիներում հուշարձանների պահպանությամբ, սակայն մինչ այժմ իրական գործնական քայլեր չեն ձեռնարկվել:

Մենք շարունակելու ենք միջազգային հարթակում պայքարել՝ ներկայացնելով մեր մշակութային ժառանագության նկատմամբ թշնամու կողմից կատարված վանդալիզմի փաստերը: Բայց, նախ և առաջ, մեր պատմամշակութային կոթողներն ունեն մեզանից յուրաքանչյուրի պաշտպանության ու հոգատարության կարիքը: Մենք պարզապես պարտավոր ենք դարերից մեզ հասած պատմամշակութային ժառանգությունը, որպես մեր պատմության և ինքնության առհավատչյա, հնարավորինս անվնաս փոխանցել հաջորդ սերունդներին»։
