Կիևը չի կարող լքել Բախմուտը, քանի որ այս դեպքում ռուսական զորքերը ավելի շատ տարածքներ գրավելու հնարավորություն կունենան, արաբական Al-Arabiya հեռուստաալիքին տված հարցազրույցում ասել է Ուկրաինայի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Զելենսկին։
«Մենք չենք կարող զիջել Բախմուտը, քանի որ դա (կօգնի) ընդլայնել ռազմաճակատը և հնարավորություն կտա ռուսական զորքերին և «Վագներին» գրավել ավելի շատ մեր տարածքները»,- ասաց նա:
Հեռուստաալիքի հաղորդագրության համաձայն՝ Բախմուտի նկատմամբ լիակատար վերահսկողությունը ռուսական զորքերի համար տրամպլին կստեղծի Կրամատորսկի և Սլավյանսկի վրա հետագա հարձակման համար։
Երկար ամիսներ կատաղի մարտեր են ընթանում Արտեմովսկի համար։ Քաղաքը կարևոր տրանսպորտային հանգույց է Դոնբասում ուկրաինական զորքերի խմբին մատակարարելու համար։
Ապրիլի 11-ին «Վագներ» խմբի հիմնադիր Եվգենի Պրիգոժինը, որի մարտիկները մասնակցում են քաղաքի ազատագրմանը, հայտարարել է, որ ռուսական ուժերը վերահսկում են նրա տարածքի ավելի քան 80%-ը։ Ներկա պահին, անկախ գնահատումներով, ուկրաինական վերահսկողության տակ է մնացել քաղաքի մոտ 7-8%-ը: Նախկին հայտարարությունից տասը օր անց Պրիգոժինը նաեւ հայտնել է, որ Արտեմովսկում ուկրաինական զորքերը գտնվում են օպերատիվ շրջափակման մեջ, սակայն «կաթսայի» մասին դեռ խոսք չկա։
