Թուրքիայի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Մևլութ Չավուշօղլուն արձագանքել է ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենի ապրիլքսանչորսյան ուղերձին, որում նա կրկին կիրառել է «Հայոց ցեղասպանություն» եզրույթն ու վերահաստատել երբեք չմոռանալու խոստումը:

Ըստ թուրք դիվանագետի՝ սա պատմական իրողությունները «խեղաթյուրելու» փորձ է։

«Շառլատանները, որոնք փորձում են խեղաթյուրել պատմությունը, նորից հայտնվում են քաղաքական բեմում։ Քաղաքական հայտարարությունները չեն փոխի պատմական իրողությունները: Նրանք, ովքեր փորձում են օգուտ ստանալ՝ հիմնվելով նախապաշարմունքների վրա, կհիշվեն որպես երկերեսանի: Ոչ ոք չի համարձակվի պատմություն սովորեցնել մեծ թուրք ժողովրդին»,- ապրիլի 24-ին Twitter-ում գրել է Չավուշօղլուն։

Ստորև ներկայացնում ենք ԱՄՆ նախագահի ուղերձը.

«Այսօր մենք կանգ ենք առնում հիշելու Մեծ եղեռնի` Հայոց ցեղասպանության ժամանակ կորցված կյանքերը և վերահաստատելու երբեք չմոռանալու մեր խոստումը:

1915 թվականի ապրիլի 24-ին օսմանյան իշխանությունները ձերբակալեցին Կոստանդնուպոլսի հայ մտավորականներին և համայնքի ղեկավարներին, ինչը սկիզբ դրեց հայ համայնքի դեմ բռնության համակարգված արշավին: Հետագա տարիներին մեկուկես միլիոն հայեր տեղահանվեցին, կոտորվեցին կամ տարվեցին մահվան երթերով՝ ողբերգություն, որը մեկընդմիշտ ազդեց հայ ընտանիքների սերունդների վրա:

Երբ մենք միանում ենք աշխարհի տարբեր երկրներին հիշելու այս ցավալի պատմությունը, մենք նաև անդրադառնում ենք հայ ժողովրդի տոկունությանը և վճռականությանը: Ողջ մնացածներից շատերը ստիպված եղան նոր կյանք սկսել նոր երկրներում, այդ թվում՝ Միացյալ Նահանգներում։ Այստեղ և ամբողջ աշխարհում հայ ժողովուրդը հույսով է հանդիպել ատելության չարիքին։ Նրանք վերակառուցեցին իրենց համայնքները: Նրանք դաստիարակեցին իրենց ընտանիքները և պահպանեցին իրենց մշակույթը: Նրանք հզորացրին մեր ազգը։ Նրանք նաև պատմեցին իրենց և իրենց նախնիների պատմությունները՝ հիշելու և երաշխավորելու համար, որ 108 տարի առաջ տեղի ունեցած ցեղասպանությունն այլևս երբեք չկրկնվի:

Այսօր եկեք նորից տանք այս խոստումը։ Եկեք կրկին պարտավորվենք բարձրաձայնել ատելության դեմ, պաշտպանել մարդու իրավունքները և կանխել վայրագությունները: Եվ միասին, եկեք կրկնապատկենք մեր ջանքերը՝ կերտելու ավելի լավ ապագա, որտեղ բոլոր մարդիկ կարող են ապրել արժանապատվությամբ, ապահովությամբ և հարգանքով»:
