Ուզբեկստանի մայրաքաղաք Տաշքենդում անցկացվող բռնցքամարտի աշխարհի առաջնության մեկնարկում պարտություն կրեց աշխարհի փոխչեմպիոն Դավիթ Չալոյանը (92+ կգ)։ Հայաստանի ներկայացուցիչը 1/8 եզրափակիչում մենամարտեց չինացի Դանաբիեկե Բայկեվուզիի հետ, որը հաղթեց 5:0 հաշվով։

Հիշեցնենք, որ հաղթանակով է մեկնարկել Հայաստանի հավաքականի առաջատար Հովհաննես Բաչկովը (63,5 կգ)։

Տոկիոյի Օլիմպիական խաղերի բրոնզե մեդալակիր, Եվրոպայի եռակի չեմպիոն, աշխարհի առաջնության եռակի բրոնզե մեդալակիր Հովհաննես Բաչկովը 1/8 եզրափակիչում մենամարտեց Սերբիայի ներկայացուցիչ Ալեքսեյ Սենդրիկի հետ եւ հաղթեց միավորների առավելությամբ՝ դուրս գալով քառորդ եզրափակիչ: Բոլոր երեք ռաունդներում մրցավարներն առավելությունը տվեցին հայ բռնցքամարտիկին:

Բարեղամ Հարությունյանը (48 կգ) 1/16 եզրափակիչում 0:4 հաշվով պարտվեց կուբացի Ալեխանդրո Կլարոյին։

Ռուդոլֆ Գարբոյանը (51 կգ) 1/16 եզրափակիչում 1:4 հաշվով պարտվեց մրցելով Տայպեի ներկայացուցիչ Պո-Վեյ Տուին։

Հայաստանի հավաքականն աշխարհի առաջնությանը մասնակցում է 11 բռնցքամարտիկով։ Արթուր Ղազարյանը (60 կգ) եւ Համբարձում Հակոբյանը (80 կգ) նույնպես դուրս են մնացել պայքարից։

60 կգ քաշային կարգում Արթուր Ղազարյանը 1/8-րդ եզրափակիչում պարտվել է Զամբիայի ներկայացուցիչ Էնդրյու Չիլատային։ Ղազարյանը 1/16 եզրափակիչում նոկաուտով հաղթել էր Բուրունդին ներկայացնող Մուհամեդ Նտունգիեբոսեին:

Համբարձում Հակոբյանը (80 կգ) 1/16 եզրափակիչում պարտվել է Չինաստանի ներկայացուցիչ Տ. Կե Թուոհետաերբիեին:

Կարեն Աղամալյանի գլխավորած հավաքականից հաղթանակով է մեկնարկել նաեւ Եվրոպայի փոխչեմպիոն Ռաֆայել Հովհաննիսյանը: 86 կգ քաշայինների  1/16 եզրափակիչում Հովհաննիսյանը 4:1 հաշվով հաղթել էր  Իսրայելի ներկայացուցիչ Յան Զաքին:

Ռինգ դուրս կգան նաեւ Ռուսլան Ասլիկյանը (54 կգ), Արթուր Բազեյանը (57 կգ), Գուրգեն Մադոյանը (67կգ), Նարեկ Մանասյանը (92 կգ)։
