Վերջին գրեթե 10 ամսվա ընթացքում Պակիստանի եւ Հնդկաստանի փոխարտգործնախարարների մակարդակում հանդիպումը տեղի կունենա ընթացիկ տարվա հունվարի  15-ին` Իսլամաբադում: Այդ մասին լրագրողներին հայտնել է Պակիստանի վարչապետի ազգային անվտանգության եւ միջազգային հարցերով խորհրդական   Սարթաջ Ազիզը, տեղեկացնում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:   

Նրա հավաստմամբ կողմերը նպատակաուղղված են համընդգրկուն երկխոսության, որը կներառի բոլոր կարեւոր հարցերի քննարկումը, այդ թվում նաեւ` քաշմիրյան խնդրի:    2014-ի օգոստոսին Հնդկաստանը դադարեցրել էր Պակիստանի հետ կանոնավոր դիվանագիտական շփումները այն բանից հետո, երբ այդ երկրի դեսպանը Ջամմու եւ Քաշմիր նահանգում հանդիպել էր հնդիկ անջատողականների հետ:  Հունվարին հանդիպման անցկացումը դարձյալ վտանգվել էր այն բանից հետո, երբ իբր պակիստանցի գրոհայինները հարձակվել էին Փենջաբի նահանգի Պաթհանկոտ քաղաքում հնդկական ռազմաօդային բազայի վրա: Գրոհը հնդիկ յոթ զինվորի կյանք էր արժեցել, իսկ Հնդկաստանի ԱԳՆ-ի պաշտոնական ներկայացուցիչ Վիկաս Սվարուպը հայտնել էր, որ առաջիկա բանակցությունները հնարավոր կդառնան միայն այն դեպքում, եթե Պակիստանը միջոցներ ձեռք առնի ահաբեկչական գործողության կազմակերպիչների դեմ:

Պակիստանի եւ Հնդկաստանի բանակներին բաժանում է վերահսկողության գիծը` Քաշմիրում բաժանարար գիծը, որը իրավաբանորեն ճանաչված չէ որպես երկրների միջեւ սահման:  1947-ին Բրիտանական Հնդկաստանի բաժանումից հետո Պակիստանն ու Հնդկաստանը երեք պատերազմ են վերապրել` 1947 – 1949-ին, 1965-ին եւ 1971-ին:
