«Հայրենիք» կուսակցությունը խստորեն դատապարտում է ընդդիմադիր քաղաքական գործիչ, ՀՀԿ փոխնախագահ Արմեն Աշոտյանի ձերբակալությունը, որն անկասկած կատարվել է ՀՀ իշխանությունների ուղիղ հրահանգներով գործող իրավապահ մարմինների կողմից։
 
Գտնում ենք, որ տեղի ունեցածը քաղաքական հետապնդում է և հանդիսանում է Արմեն Աշոտյանի կողմից օրվա իշխանություններին սուր քննադատության ենթարկելու ուղղակի արձագանքն ու հետևանքը։ Այլ պարագայում, ուժի մեջ մտած մեղադրական դատավճռի բացակայության պայմաններում իշխանական որևէ լծակ չունեցող, մշտապես ՀՀ-ում բնակվող, հասարակության համար վտանգ չներկայացնող ընդդիմադիր գործչին ձերբակալելը որևէ դատավարական նշանակություն չի կարող ունենալ։
Ընդդիմադիր գործիչների, իրենց առաքելությունը կատարող փաստաբանների, քննադատություն հնչեցնող այլ քաղաքացիների նկատմամբ բռնաճնշումներն այս իշխանության օրըստօրե ավելի եռանդուն կերպով բռնապետություն կառուցելու շարունակական դրսևորումներն են։
 
Բացի այդ, ներքին հարցերում նոր և ավելի սանձարձակ ապօրինություններ կազմակերպելով՝ իշխանությունները փորձում են շեղել հասարակության ուշադրությունը այս պահին կենսական միակ խնդրից և մոռացության մատնել իրենց մեղքով Հայաստանի և Արցախի առջև ծառացած մահաբեր վտանգը։
 
«Հայրենիք» կուսակցությունն իր զորակցությունն է հայտնում իշխանությունների կողմից հանիրավի հետապնդվող բոլոր անհատներին և կազմակերպություններին և վերահաստատում է իր դիրքորոշումը, որ միայն համախմբվելով և մեկտեղվելով է կարելի ձերբազատվել Հայաստանը և Արցախը, և ի վերջո յուրաքանչյուր անհամաձայնություն արտահայտող անձին վտանգող այս իշխանություններից։
