Միացյալ Նահանգները շուտով կհյուրընկալի Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև խաղաղ բանակցությունների նոր փուլը։ Այս մասին ճեպազրույցում հայտարարել է ԱՄՆ Պետքարտուղարության մամուլի ծառայության ղեկավարի տեղակալ Վեդանտ Պատելը։
«Մենք անհամբերությամբ սպասում ենք Վաշինգտոնում բանակցությունների ևս մեկ փուլ հյուրընկալելու հնարավորությանը, քանի որ կողմերը շարունակում են ձգտել Հարավային Կովկասի տարածաշրջանում խաղաղ ապագայի հաստատմանը: Մենք շարունակում ենք հավատալ, որ ուղիղ երկխոսությունը հիմնախնդիրների լուծման և խաղաղության հասնելու բանալին է»,- ասել է ԱՄՆ ԱԳՆ ներկայացուցիչը։
Խոսելով ԼՂ կարգավորմանն ուղղված Ռուսաստանի միջնորդական ջանքերի մասին՝ Պատելը նշել է․
«Եթե Ռուսաստանը կարծում է, որ կարող է կառուցողական դեր խաղալ այս հարցում, ապա, իհարկե, ազատ է դա անել։ Բայց մենք հավատում ենք, որ բանակցություններն առաջ են ընթանում, ԱՄՆ-ն կարևոր գործընկեր է եղել դրանում, և պետքարտուղար Էնթոնի Բլինքենն անձամբ է զբաղվել դրանով»:
Նրա խոսքով, Վաշինգտոնը կշարունակի «համարել, որ լարվածություն հրահրող քայլերը, իհարկե, այժմ արդյունավետ չեն, քանի որ Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև բանակցություններ են ընթանում տարբեր հարթակներում»։
