Արցախի ՄԻՊ Գեղամ Ստեփանյանը ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում գրում է․
«Հայաստանի հանրային հեռուստատեսության լուրերի թողարկման ժամանակ օգտագործվում է բացառապես Լեռնային Ղարաբաղ անվանումը, ինչն անկեղծորեն տարակուսանք է առաջացնում, որովհետև մինչև վերջերս մշտապես օգտագործվում էր Արցախ անվանումը։
Արցախի ժողովուրդն իհարկե չի հրաժարվում Լեռնային Ղարաբաղ տերմինից, ավելին, ԱՀ սահմանադրության համաձայն՝ Արցախի Հանրապետություն և Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի Հանրապետություն անվանումները նույնական են:
Այնուամենայնիվ Հայաստանի հանրային հեռուստաընկերությունը հանրապետություն բառը վաղուց չի օգտագործում, հիմա էլ զարմանալիորեն Արցախն է փոխարինել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղով, այն դեպքում, երբ օրինակ միջազգային լրատվական խմբի մաս կազմող Ազատություն և Սպուտնիկ Արմենիա լրատվականներն են օգտագործում Արցախ անվանումը։
Եթե խնդիրը միջազգային դերակատարներին ավելի հասկանալի լինելու մեջ է, ապա նախ՝ կարծում եմ Արցախ անվանումը հարցով հետաքրքրված դերակատարների կողմից արդեն իսկ հասցրել է ճանաչելի և ընկալելի դառնալ, և երկրորդ՝ արդյո՞ք հնարավոր չէ գոնե օգտագործել երկու անվանումներն էլ զուգահեռ՝ Արցախ (Լեռնային Ղարաբաղ)։
Հաճախ միջազգային մեդիայի ներկայացուցիչներն են Լեռնային Ղարաբաղին զուգահեռ օգտագործում Արցախ անվանումը՝ հարգանք դրսևորելով տեղացիների նկատմամբ, որովհետև միջազգային իրավունքը տեղանուններն ու աշխարհագրական անվանումները չի համարում պետությունների սեփականություն, այլ համարում է ժողովուրդների ոչ նյութական ժառանգություն»։
