ՆԱՏՕ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Յենս Ստոլտենբերգը հայտարարել է, որ ՆԱՏՕ-ն աջակցում է Թուրքիայի՝ ԵՄ անդամ դառնալու ձգտումին, սակայն այդ մտադրությունը չպետք է խանգարի Շվեդիային միանալ դաշինքին։ Այս մասին հայտնում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը։
Նա ընդգծել է, որ աջակցում է Անկարայի ձգտումին, սակայն անհրաժեշտ է հիշել 2022 թվականին Մադրիդում Թուրքիայի և ՆԱՏՕ-ի համաձայնագիրը, պայմանների կոնկրետ ցանկը, որը Շվեդիան պետք է կատարի դաշինքին միանալու համար։
Ստոլտենբերգը նշել է, որ Շվեդիան կատարել է այդ պայմանները։
«Մենք ինտենսիվ աշխատելու ենք, որպեսզի Շվեդիան հնարավորինս շուտ դառնա ՆԱՏՕ-ի անդամ, դա շատ կարևոր է բալթյան երկրների անվտանգության ապահովման համար»,- հավելել է Հյուսիսատլանտյան դաշինքի գլխավոր քարտուղարը։
Մինչ այս Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը հայտարարել էր, որ Անկարան շարունակում է հավատարիմ մնալ Հյուսիսատլանտյան դաշինքի բաց դռների քաղաքականությանը։
Նրա խոսքով, չնայած դրան, Անկարան դեռևս չի կարող վերջնականապես աջակցել Շվեդիայի՝ դաշինքին անդամակցելուն։
