Դավիթ Տոնյանը չի կարող որոշել՝ ինչ ձեւաչափով գործի ընդդիմությունը և ինչ հարցերի շուրջ կարծիք արտահայտի։ Այս մասին իր ֆեյսբուքյան էջում գրել է ՀՀ ԱԺ «Հայաստան» խմբակցության պատգամավոր Գեղամ Մանուկյանը՝ պատասխանելով պաշտպանության նախկին նախարար Դավիթ Տոնոյանի հայտարարության ընդդիմության վերաբերյալ։
«ԱԺ Քննիչ հանձնաժողովի վերաբերյալ մեր դիրքորոշումն եղել է խորքային, համակարգային, եւ պայմանավորված չի եղել որեւէ անձով, որեւէ մեկի ցուցմունքով կամ տեղեկություն ստանալու անհրաժեշտությամբ, քանի որ ամեն դեպքում, այս հանձնաժողովը չունի հանրային լեգիտիմություն, եւ վերջնարդյունքը պարզ է ու հայտնի։ Այս հանձնաժողվի աշխատանքները լոկ միտված են պատերազմի և պարտության հանգամանքները, ռազմա-քաղաքական կառավարման ձախողումները կոծկելուն, ոչ թե դրանք քննելուն։

Առնվազն հրապարակային խոսքում Դավիթ Տոնյանը այդպես էլ չասաց, թե շարունակու՞մ է պնդել 2020 թվականի նոյեմբերի 10-ին Հանրային հեռուստաընկերության եթերում արտահայտած իր կարծիքը, երբ դեմ էր հանդես գալիս Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի հրաժարականի պահանջին ու քննադատում ընդդիմությանը։
Ու վերջապես, կրկին շեշտեմ՝ բոլորին հարցեր, ու շատ հարցեր տալու հերթը դեռ գալու է, երբ ձեւավորվի իրոք անկախ, հանրային վստահություն ունեցող ու բոլորը հարցերի պատասխանը ստանալ ցանկացող ԱԺ քննիչ հանձնաժողով։ Մինչ այդ շարունակում ենք պնդել, որ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը և իր վարչախումբը չեն կարող անաչառորեն քննել իրենց իսկ արաքները։
Հ.Գ. Կմաղթեմ միայն, որ Դավիթ Տոնոյանը, ինչպես նաեւ իշխանության թիրախում հայտնված, պատանդի կարգավիճակում պահվող բոլոր զինվորականները հնարավորինս շուտ լինեն ազատության մեջ», - գրել է պատգամավորը։
Ավելի վաղ ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախկին նախարար Դավիթ Տոնոյանն ԱԺ 44-օրյա պատերազմի հանգամանքները քննող հանձնաժողովի նիստի ժամանակ կոչ էր արել ԱԺ ընդդիմադիր պատգամավորներին ներկա գտնվել հանձնաժողովի նիստին, իսկ հակառակ դեպքում այլև հրապարակային հայտարարություններ չանեն իր գործունեության վերաբերյալ։
«Ես խնդրում եմ, որ գոնե փակ նիստի ժամանակ ընդդիմության մասնակցությունը լինի, առնվազն երկու ուժի մասնակցությունը՝ ՀՅԴ-ի և ՀՀԿ-ի: Հակառակ դեպքում ես կխնդրեի այդ կուսակցությունների ներկայացուցիչներին այլեւս հրապարկային չարտահայտվել առնվազն իմ գործունեության հետ կապված հարցերում»,-նշել է Տոնոյանը:
