Եգիպտոսը հրաժարվում է զենք մատակարարել Ռուսաստանին․ WSJ

The Wall Street Journal թերթը, հղում անելով իր աղբյուրներին, հայտնում է, որ ԱՄՆ կառավարությունը փորձում է համոզել Եգիպտոսին սկսել զենք մատակարարել Ուկրաինային, սակայն Կահիրեն չի շտապում կատարել այդ խնդրանքը։
Ավելի վաղ Եգիպտոսի իշխանությունները, Վաշինգտոնի ճնշման ներքո, հրաժարվել էին Ռուսաստանին զենքով օգնելու գաղափարից, ասվում է հրապարակման մեջ։
WSJ-ի աղբյուրների համաձայն՝ Եգիպտոսին Կիևին զենք մատակարարելու խնդրանքով դիմել են ԱՄՆ մի քանի պաշտոնյաներ, այդ թվում՝ ԱՄՆ պաշտպանության նախարար Լլոյդ Օսթինը, որը մարտին հանդիպել է նախագահ Աբդուլ Ֆաթահ աս-Սիսիի հետ:
Մասնավորապես, ամերիկյան իշխանությունները Եգիպտոսի իշխանություններին առաջարկել են Ուկրաինային մատակարարել հրետանային արկեր, հակատանկային հրթիռներ, հակաօդային պաշտպանության համակարգեր և հրազեն։
Հատկապես կարևոր է արկերի մատակարարումը, քանի որ Ուկրաինան հակահարձակման ժամանակ մեծ քանակությամբ զինամթերք է օգտագործում, և ԱՄՆ իշխանություններն անում են ամեն ինչ, որպեսզի դրանք չսպառվեն, գրում է WSJ-ը։
«ԱՄՆ պաշտոնյաների հետ հանդիպումների ժամանակ Եգիպտոսը միանշանակ չի մերժել այդ խնդրանքները, սակայն եգիպտական իշխանությունների ներկայացուցիչները մասնավոր զրույցներում ասում են, որ Կահիրեն չի պլանավորում սկսել մատակարարումները», գրում է թերթը:
WSJ-ի լրագրողները հիշեցնում են, որ Եգիպտոսը փորձել է չեզոք մնալ ուկրաինական պատերազմի հարցում և բարեկամական հարաբերություններ պահպանել Ռուսաստանի հետ։ Նախագահ ալ-Սիսին դեռևս բարեկամ է Վլադիմիր Պուտինի հետ և վերջերս մասնակցել է Ռուսաստան-Աֆրիկա վեհաժողովին, որը տեղի է ունեցել Սանկտ Պետերբուրգում։ Եգիպտոսը հացահատիկի մեծ մասը գնում է Ռուսաստանից։
Այն բանից հետո, երբ Եգիպտոսի իշխանությունները հրաժարվեցին զենք մատակարարել Ուկրաինային, ԱՄՆ Կոնգրեսի որոշ անդամներ առաջարկեցին սառեցնել Կահիրեին ԱՄՆ-ի օգնության հատկացումը, հայտնում են հրապարակման հեղինակները։ ԱՄՆ-ը տարեկան 1,3 միլիարդ դոլար է հատկացնում եգիպտական բանակին աջակցելու համար:
