«Մենք ենք մեր սարերը» գործակալության համահիմնադիր, Արցախի նախկին պետնախարար Ռուբեն Վարդանյանը ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում գրել է.
Պետությունները կայանում, ամրանում, հզորանում և հարգանք են վաստակում, երբ հավատարիմ են մնում ու սրբորեն պահպանում են պետականության հիմքում ընկած արժեքներն ու գաղափարները:
Հայկական ԽՍՀ Գերագույն խորհուրդը 33 տարի առաջ ընդունեց Հայաստանի Անկախության Հռչակագիրը՝ հստակ հայտարարելով, որ անկախ պետականության հաստատման գործընթացի սկիզբը հռչակում է՝ «կենսագործելով ազգերի ազատ ինքնորոշման իրավունքը, հիմնվելով 1989 թվականի դեկտեմբերի 1-ի «Հայկական ԽՍՀ-ի եւ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի վերամիավորման մասին» Հայկական ԽՍՀ Գերագույն խորհրդի եւ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի Ազգային խորհրդի համատեղ որոշման վրա»:
Այս փաստաթուղթն է Հայաստանի Հանրապետության Սահմանադրություն հիմքում: Սահմանադրություն բառն ինքնին խոսում է այն մասին, որ այդ փաստաթղթում դրվել են սահմաններ բոլոր իշխանությունների համար, որոնց հատելը նշանակում է խարխլել պետականության հիմքերը:
Հռչակագրի ընդունումից 33 տարի անց մենք այսօր կանգնած ենք Արցախի հանձնման ու Հայաստանի ինքնիշխանության կորստի լրջագույն մարտահրավերների առջև:
Հռչակագրից ընդունումից 33 տարի անց Հայաստանի իշխանությունները Արցախն Ադրբեջանի կազմում ճանաչելու մասին հայատարարություն են արել, իսկ Ադրբեջանը դրանից ոգևորված՝ նոր տարածքային պահանջներ է ներկայացնում Հայաստանի Հանրապետությանը՝ խորացնելով թշնամանքն ու ագրեսիայի վտանգը:
Մեր ժողովրդին ամեն օր քարոզվում է, որ մենք անզոր ենք, որ մենք թույլ ենք, որ մենք չենք կարող ոչինչ փոխել: Ամեն ինչ արվում է՝ կոտրելու մեր ազգի ողնաշարը, զրկելու մեզ մեր ազգային արժանապատվությունից, գաղափարից՝ արժեզրկելով պայքարն ու դիմադրությունը: Դա արվում է այն դեպքում, երբ սպառնալիքներն օրեցօր ուժգնանում են: Մեզ նախևառաջ փորձում են զինաթափել հոգեպես և բարոյապես: Հենց այդ պատճառով էլ պետք է ավելի ամուր կառչել արժեքներից ու գաղափարներից, հավատարիմ մնալ այն սկզբունքներին, որոնք դրվել են հայոց անկախ պետականության հռչակման հիմքում:
Երբ Սպարապետ Վազգեն Սարգսյանին հարց էին տալիս անկախության մասին, նա ասել է. «Անկախությունը բացարձակ արժեք է։ Անգամ այս ծանր փորձությունների գնով, անգամ այս ծանր կենցաղի գնով Անկախությունը քննարկման կարիք չունի։ Դա մարդու շնչելու, մարդու ապրելու, ծնվելու, սիրելու պես բան է։ Այդ ամեն ինչի հավաքականություն է Անկախությունը...»:
