«Տհաճ լուրեր են գալիս մեր երկրի հյուսիս-արևմտյան սահմաններից, որոնց նկատմամբ պետք է լինել զգոն և հարմար պահին գործի անցնել»: Այս մասին իր խմբագրականում գրել է «Ջոմհուրիե Էսլամի» օրաթերթը, փոխանցում է Pars Today-ը։ Էրդողանի Նախիջևան այցից և Հայաստանի ու Բաքվի միջև վերջին լարվածությունից հետո, «Ջոմհուրիե Էսլամի»-ն, մասնավորապես, գրել է.

«Եթե ​​Իլհամ Ալիեւը մտադիր է հատել հայտարարված կարմիր գծերը, նա, անշուշտ, պետք է ակնկալի այլ տեսակի վճռական պատասխան, որը կարող է հանգեցնել Բաքվում կարեւոր փոփոխությունների»:

«Ջոմհուրիե Էսլամի» օրաթերթի խմբագիրը համոզված է, որ Նախիջևանում Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի հետ հանդիպման ժամանակ Իլհամ Ալիևի խոսքերը նշանակում են, որ նա ռազմական հարձակում է ծրագրում Հայաստանի Սյունիքի մարզի վրա։ Այս մարզը գտնվում է Իրանի սահմանին և այդ տարածքից է անցնում Իրանի և Հայաստանի միջև հաղորդակցության ճանապարհը։

Այդ իսկ պատճառով Սյունիքի վրա հարձակումը և Ալիևի ուզած Զանգզեուրի միջանցքի ստեղծումը վնասելու է Իրանի շահերին, և սա այն նույն կարմիր գիծն է, որի մասին բազմիցս խոսել և զգուշացրել են Իրանի պաշտոնյաները։ Զանգեզուրի միջանցքի ստեղծումը նշանակում է Իրանի և Հայաստանի միջև կապի խզում, և այդ գործողությունը հակասում է Իրանի ազգային շահերին և իրականում տարածաշրջանի աշխարհագրական իրավիճակի և սահմանների փոփոխություն  է։ Սա այն է, ինչի նկատմամբ Իրանը զգայուն է, և Իրանի Իսլամական Հանրապետության իշխանությունները բազմիցս ասել են, որ թույլ չեն տա դա տեղի ունենալ։

Իրանի Իսլամական Հանրապետության հարաբերություններն իր հյուսիսային հարեւանների, այդ թվում՝ Ադրբեջանի և Հայաստանի հետ, միշտ եղել են բարեկամական և խաղաղ, և այսուհետ նույն քաղաքականությունը մեր երկրի արտաքին դիվանագիտության օրակարգում է։ Ինչ վերաբերում է Ղարաբաղի հակամարտությանը, Իրանի պաշտոնյաները բազմիցս ընդգծել են այս տարածաշրջանի պատկանելությունը Ադրբեջանին և դրա խաղաղ կարգավորման անհրաժեշտությունը։
