Կիպրոսի Հանրապետության Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի նախագահ Աննիտա Դեմետրիուն կոչ է անում ԵԽ անդամ պետություններին աջակցել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հայ բնակչությանը այնպես, ինչպես հաստատակամորեն աջակցում են Ուկրաինայի ժողովրդին։ «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝  այս մասին Դեմենտրիուն հայտարարել է Եվրոպայի խորհրդի անդամ պետությունների խորհրդարանների նախագահների եվրոպական համաժողովի նիստին։

«Հարգելի գործընկերներ, մինչ մենք խոսում ենք, Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում արդեն 10 ամիս անասելի հումանիտար ճգնաժամ է։ Հազարավոր մարդիկ (այս պահին ՝ մոտ 50 հազար անձ), ուժասպառ, թերսնված և վախեցած, հերթ են կանգնում դեպի Հայաստան զանգվածային արտագաղթի համար՝ փրկվելով էթնիկ զտումներից: Ի՞նչ ենք մենք արել, որպեսզի կանգնեցնենք հերթական հումանիտար աղետը, որն արթնացնում է հայ ժողովրդի տրավմատիկ անցյալի հիշողությունները: Ակնհայտ է, որ դա բավարար չէ, առհասարակ կարելի է ասել ոչինչ է: Մենք պետք է աջակցենք Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հայ բնակչությանը այնպես, ինչպես մենք հաստատակամորեն աջակցում ենք Ուկրաինայի ժողովրդին»,- ընդգծել է Աննիտա Դեմետրիուն։

Նրա խոսքով՝ ռազմական ագրեսիան, միջազգային իրավունքի և մարդու իրավունքների աղաղակող խախտումները դաժան հարձակում են կանոնների վրա հիմնված բազմակողմ համակարգի վրա:

«Մեր վճռականությունը հանուն այդ սկզբունքների պետք է լինի անվերապահ և զերծ երկակի ստանդարտներից՝ անկախ նրանից, թե ով է ագրեսորը։ Տվյալ դեպքում՝ Ադրբեջանը, ինչպես և Ռուսաստանը Ուկրաինայի դեպքում, և Թուրքիան Կիպրոսի դեպքում: Միջազգային հանրությունը պետք է շարունակի աջակցել Ուկրաինայի վերականգնման ջանքերին։ Միեւնույն ժամանակ, մենք պետք է մեր ողջ էներգիան ուղղենք Ուկրաինայում պատերազմի շուտափույթ ավարտին։ Պետք է նաև վերջ դնենք Հայաստանում Ադրբեջանի ագրեսիային և Կիպրոսում Թուրքիայի անօրինական ու ծավալապաշտական նկրտումներին եւ հնարավորինս շուտ վերադառնանք բանակցությունների սեղանի շուրջ»,- շեշտել է Դեմենտրիուն։
