Երեկ՝ հոկտեմբերի 31-ին, ավտովթար է տեղի ունեցել Գեղարքունիքի մարզում: Ժամը 21:40-ի սահմաններում Գեղարքունիքի մարզի բնակիչ 43-ամյա Քրիստինե Բ.-ն իր վարած Opel մակնիշի ավտոմեքենայով Գավառ քաղաքում՝ Նալբանդյան փողոցում, դեռևս անհայտ հանգամանքներում, դուրս է եկել ճանապարհի երթևեկելի գոտուց, բախվել ճանապարհի աջակողմյան հատվածում գտնվող էլեկտրասյանը և հայտնվել դաշտում՝ բախվելով ծառին:
Ինչպես հայտնում է ֆոտոլրագրող Գագիկ Շամշյանը, վթարի հետևանքով Քրիստինե Բ.-ն, նրա ուղևորներ, Գեղարքունիքի մարզի բնակիչներ 23-ամյա Մերի Ա.-ն և 25-ամյա Արմեն Խ.-ն մարմնական վնասվածքներով տեղափոխվել են «Գավառ» բժշկական կենտրոն:
Օպերատիվորեն դեպքի վայր են ժամանել ՀՀ ՆԳՆ Ոստիկանության Պարեկային ծառայության Գեղարքունիքի մարզի գումարտակի 1-ին վաշտի պարեկները՝ գումարտակի հրամանատար Ալբերտ Մարտիրոսյանի, տեխնիկայի գծով ավագ տեսուչ Բակուր Սարիբեկյանի, վաշտի հրամանատար Արթուր Եղիազարյանի և դասակի հրամանատար Գրիգոր Ալեքսանյանի գլխավորությամբ:
Տեղում տարածքը սահմանազատել են նույն վաշտի պարեկներ Ռազմիկ Առաքելյանն ու Վիգեն Հակոբյանը:
Օպերատիվորեն ժամանել են նաև ՀՀ ՆԳՆ Ոստիկանության Գավառի բաժնի հերթապահ խումբը՝ օրվա պատասխանատու հերթապահի գլխավորությամբ:
