«Իշխանական «իրավապահ» համակարգի հերթական թիրախն այս անգամ իրավապաշտպան, արցախյան շարժման ակունքներում կանգնած Ավետիք Իշխանյանն է: Նիկոլն այս անգամ նրան է «ընտրել» ավելի հեռահար նպատակով: Ավետիքը հատկապես վերջին տարիներին ներկայանում էր նաեւ իբրեւ «Ղարաբաղ» կոմիտեի անդամ: Արցախյան ամեն ինչը սեւացնելու ու ոչնչացնելու քաղաքականությունն է, որ մղել է սրանց հարձակվել անգամ խիստ ծանր առողջական խնդիրներ ունեցող վերջին երեսուն տարիներին մեր երկրի հանրային-քաղաքական կյանքին մասնակից գործչի նկատմամբ: Մի բան Հայաստանի ղեկին հայտված թշնամին հաշվի չի առել. Ավետիքին չեն վախեցնի կամ լռեցնի: Նա «Ղարաբաղ» կոմիտեի կազմում ընդգրկվել էր, որպեսզի կոմիտեին խորհրդային բռնատիրության կողմից կալանավորման դեպքում մեկ այլ կոմիտե լիներ: Չէր վախեցել խորհրդային բանտերից, ինչպես Ավետիքի պապը՝ Առաջին Հանրապետության օրերին մեր երկրում սկաուտության հիմնադիր, խորհրդայնացումից հետո Հայրենիքից չհեռացած ու 1937ին ստալինյան բռնություններին զոհ գնացած Վահան Չերազը»։
