Էբոլա վիրուսի տարածումն Արեւմտյան Աֆրիկայում կանգնեցվել Է: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, հունվարի 14-ին հաղորդել Է Առողջապահության համաշխարհային կազմակերպությունը (ԱՀԿ):
«Առողջապահության համաշխարհային կազմակերպությունը հայտարարում Է, որ ավարտված Է Էբոլա վիրուսի՝ ժամանակի առումով վերջին բռնկումը Լիբերիայում, եւ նշում Է, որ վիրուսի փոխանցման բոլոր հայտնի ուղիներն արգելափակված են»,- ասվում Է ԱՀԿ-ի՝ Ժնեում տարածված հայտարարության մեջ:
Դրա հետ մեկտեղ փաստաթղթում ընդգծվում Է, որ «աշխատանքն ավարտված չԷ», քանի որ «սպասվում են Էբոլա վիրուսի հարուցած հիվանդության նոր բռնկումներ»: «Այդ կապակցությամբ առաջիկա ամիսներին մշտադիտարկումը բացառիկ կարեւոր նշանակություն ունի»,-նշում Է ԱՀԿ-ն:
Ավելի վաղ ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Պան Գի Մունը հայտարարել Է, որ Արեւմտյան Աֆրիկայի ավելի քան 10 հազար բնակիչներ հաղթահարել են Էբոլա վիրուսի հարուցած հիվանդությունը: «Արեւմտյան Աֆրիկայի ավելի քան 10 հազար բնակիչներ հաղթահարել են Էբոլա վիրուսը: Նրանք կարիք ունեն համալիր աջակցության, որը թույլ կտա ապահովել նրանց առողջությունը եւ բարեկեցությունը: Մենք պետք Է հոգ տանենք կենդանի մնացածների, այրիների, որբերի, ինչպես նաեւ բնակչության մյուս խոցելի խմբերի մասին»,-ասել Է գլխավոր քարտուղարը:
ԱՀԿ-ի տվյալներով՝ Արեւմտյան Աֆրիկայում Էբոլա վիրուսից զոհվել Է ավելի քան 11 հազար մարդ: Զոհերի մեծ մասը բաժին Է ընկել երեք երկրների՝ Գվինեային, Սիեռա Լեոնեին եւ Լիբերիային: Ինչպես դեկտեմբերին հաղորդել Է ՄԱԿ-ի մանկական հիմնադրամը (ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ), մահացու վտանգավոր վիրուսի բռնկումը որբ Է թողել 22 հազար երեխաների, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
