1940-ականների վերջերին ամերիկյան տարբեր գործարաններ էր ներկայանում մի գյուտարար և առաջարկում էր գնել իր հայտնագործության հեղինակային իրավունքը: Գյուտարարն առաջարկում էր ներկայումս բոլորիս կենցաղում որևէ առանձնահատուկ ուշադրության չարժանացող միաբռնակ ծորակի նախագիծ: Ամերիկացի ճարտարագետները հեգնեցին այդ գաղափարը
Միաբռնակ ծորակը հավանաբար այդպես էլ կմնար թղթի վրա, եթե գյուտարարը չդիմեր մետաղական դետալների արտադրությամբ զբաղվող Masco Screw Products ընկերությանը ։ Ընկերության ղեկավարներն էին Գարիկ Աճեմյանը, Չարլզ Սաունդերսը և Ալեք Մանուկյանը (Alex Manoogian)։ Ալեք Մանուկյանի փորձառու աչքը միանգամից նկատեց ծորակի նախագծի մեջ հաջողված հեռանկար։ «Ինչո՞ւ մի բան անել երկու ձեռքով, եթե կարելի է օգտագործել մեկը»,- կասեր նա ավելի ուշ՝ հայտնագործությունն իր անվամբ պատենտավորելուց հետո։ Գնելով ամերիկացի գյուտարարից թերի նախագիծը Ալեք Մանուկյանն այն կատարելագործեց և 1954 թվականին աշխարհում առաջին միաբռնակ ծորակը պատրաստ էր։ Այն անվանեցին Delta` հունական եռանկյունաձև տառի պատվին, քանի որ միաբռնակ ծորակի վերևի հատվածը եռանկյուն էր հիշեցնում։
Սակայն միաբռնակ ծորակը միանգամից չէ, որ տարածում ստացավ։ Masco Screw Products-ը դիմեց սանտեխնիկայով զբաղվող մի շարք ընկերությունների, սակայն ստացավ մերժումներ։ Հենց այդ ժամանակ Ալեք Մանուկյանը որոշեց ինքնուրույն արտադրել միաբռնակ ծորակները։ Արդյունքում արդեն 1958 թվականին միաբռնակ ծորակների վաճառքը բերեց այն արտադրողներին մեկ միլիոն դոլար։ Իսկ այսօր մեկ միլիոն միաբռնակ ծորակ է արտադրվում նույն կազմակերպության՝ Delta Faucet Company-ի կողմից՝ ամեն ամիս։
Այսօր սակայն, այլևս կարիք չկա գիտական հայտնագործությունները մեր առօրյա ներմուծելու և առարկայացնելու համար թակել տարբեր դռներ 2023 թվականի դեկտեմբերի 1-2-ը Երևանում կայանալիք «Գիտության և գործարարության օրեր 2023» համաժողովը կոչված է հենց գիտության և գործարարության փոխգործակցության, գիտության առևտրայնացման խթանմանը: Համաժողովը հրաշալի հնարավորություն է գիտական նորամուծություններին և հայտնագործությունների և բիզնես գաղափարների միաձուլման համար:
