Արտեմ Փաթափության. Առաջին հայազգի Նոբելյան մրցանակակիրը

2021 թվականի Նոբելյան մրցանակաբաշխությունը նշանակալի իրադարձություն էր ոչ միայն բեյրութահայ նյարդաբան և մոլեկուլային կենսաբան Արտեմ Փաթափությանի, այլև ողջ հայ ժողովրդի համար, քանի որ Փաթափությանն առաջին հայազգի նոբելյան դափնեկիրն էր:
Փաթափությանը ծնվել է Բեյրութում, այնուհետև Լիբանանի քաղաքացիական պատերազմի ընթացքում ընտանիքի հետ տեղափոխվել է ԱՄՆ։ Այժմ ղեկավարում է կենսաբանական և բժշկական հետազոտություններ իրականացնող SCRIPPS հաստատության «Փաթափության փորձագիտական լաբորատորիան»:
«Մեզ հետաքրքրում է այն, ինչ կոչվում է մեխանիկական զգացողություն, այն է, թե ինչպես են բջիջները ուժի միջոցով զրուցում միմյանց հետ: Սա այն է, ինչ մենք սովոր ենք զգալ՝ մեղմ քամին ձեր թևին կամ մուրճի հարվածը ձեր մատին: Սրանք մեխանիկական ուժեր են, որոնք կարող են վերածվել ազդանշանների, որոնք մենք օգտագործում ենք մեր միջավայրն իմաստավորելու համար: Այսպիսով, մեր հետազոտությունը վերաբերում է ոչ միայն հպմանն ու ցավի զգացողությանը, այլև նյարդագիտությունից դուրս այլ հիվանդություններին և կենսաբանական գործընթացներին»,- այսպես էր նկարագրում իր հայտնագործությունը անվանի գիտնականը: Փաթափությանի հայտնագործությունը հսկայական քայլ է մի շարք հիվանդությունների, տրավմաների, սուր ու քրոնիկ ցավերի բուժման նոր մեթոդներ կիրառման համար:
Այս հայտնագործությունը անվիճելի վկայությունն է նրա, որ գիտությունը կոչված է մարդու կյանքն առավել անվտանգ ու որակյալ դարձնելու համար: Գիտությունը չի կարող լինել ինքնանպատակ, այն պետք է լինի կիրառական և նպաստի ոչ միայն մարդու այլև պետությունների և հասարակությունների զարգացմանը:
Արտեմ Փաթափությանը 2022 թվականին առաջին անգամ Երևանում կազմակերպված «Գիտության և գործարարության օրեր 2022» լայնամասշտաբ համաժողովի հատուկ հյուրերից ու բանախոսներից էր: Համաժողովն իր հարկի տակ է համախմբում հազարավոր գիտնականների, հետազոտողների ու գործարարների աշխարհի տարբեր ծայրերին: Այս տարի ՀՀ Էկոնոմիկայի նախարարության նախաձեռնած «Գիտության և գործարարության օրեր 2023» համաժողովը կանցկացվի դեկտեմբրի 1-2-ին՝ Երևանի Գաբրիել Սունդուկյանի անվան ազգային ակադեմիական թատրոնում:
