Հոլիվուդյան դերասան Ջոն Տրավոլտան և նրա կինը` դերասանուհի Քելի Փրեսթոնը, 7 տարի առաջ կորցրել են իրենց որդուն: Նրա մահվան օրը դերասանը ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում հուզիչ գրառում է կատարել:
Տրավոլտան կիսվել է իր չմարող ցավով և երեխաներին ու ծնողներին խորհուրդ է տվել հոգ տանել միմյանց մասին, փոխանցում է Комсомольская правда-ն:
«Ասում են, որ ամենադժվարը ծնողներին կորցնելն է: Ես կարող եմ ասել, որ դա այդպես չէ: Ամենադժվարը, ինչը կարող է լինել այս աշխարհում, երեխային կորցնելն է: Նրան, ում դու մեծացրել ես, ում հետևել ես, ում յուրաքանչյուր օր տվել ես քո սերը: Իմ որդին ինձ համար ամեն ինչ էր: Այդ 16 տարիների ընթացքում, որ մենք միասին ենք եղել, նա ինձ սովորեցրել է` ինչ ասել է՝ սիրել անշահախնդիր: Կյանքը կարճ է: Երեխանե՛ր, ժամանակ անցկացրեք ձեր ծնողների հետ, ծնողնե՛ր, ժամանակ անցկացրեք ձեր երեխաների հետ: Քանի որ մի օր, երբ դուք դուրս գաք ձեր հեռախոսների միջից, նրանք կարող է ձեր կողքին չլինեն։ Այն, ինչ ես իսկապես սովորել եմ, դա ապրել և սիրել այնպես, կարծես դա իմ վերջին օրն է»,- գրել է Տրավոլտան:
Դերասանի 16-ամյա որդին տառապում էր անոթների ծանր հիվանդությամբ` Կավասակիի համախտանիշով: Այդ հիվանդությունն ուղեկցվում է պարբերական նոպաներով: Տրավոլտայի առանձնատան լոգասենյակում երիտասարդը կորցրել է հավասարակշռությունը, ընկել և գլխով ուժգին հարվածել: Նրան փրկել չի հաջողվել: Ջեթին հուղարկավորել են Օկալա քաղաքում, որտեղ ապրում է նրա ընտանիքը:
Որդու մահից հետո Տրավոլտան հիմնել է Jet Travolta Foundation հիմնադրամը: 2010-ին զույգը ևս մի որդի է ունեցել` Բենջամինը։
