ԱՄՆ-ի համար «բացարձակ խելագարություն» կլինի Ուկրաինային նոր օգնության փաթեթի շուրջ համաձայնության չգալը, ասել է ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենը, որին մեջբերում է Սպիտակ տան մամուլի ծառայությունը։
«Ուկրաինային չաջակցելը բացարձակ խելագարություն է, դա հակասում է Միացյալ Նահանգների շահերին, դա ուղղակի սխալ է»,- ասել է քաղաքական գործիչը։
ԱՄՆ ֆինանսների նախարար Ջանեթ Յելենը «սարսափելի» է որակել Կիևին աջակցության շուրջ ստեղծված իրավիճակը։ Նրա խոսքով՝ Վաշինգտոնը պատասխանատվություն կկրի Ուկրաինայի պարտության համար, եթե չկարողանա նոր միջոցներ հատկացնել Ուկրաինայի զինված ուժերին։
Նախօրեին հանրապետական սենատորները լքել էին Ուկրաինային և Իսրայելին տրամադրվող օգնության վերաբերյալ կազմակերպված բրիֆինգը, քանի որ դեմոկրատներից պատասխան չեն ստացել իրենց առաջարկներին։ Ուկրաինայի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Զելենսկին նույնպես «վերջին պահին» չեղարկել է իր մասնակցությունը միջոցառմանը։
Fox News-ի Կոնգրեսի թղթակից Չադ Պերգրամն ասել է, որ հանդիպմանը «գրգռված» մթնոլորտ է եղել։
Բայդենը նախկինում Կոնգրեսից 106 միլիարդ դոլար էր խնդրել Իսրայելին ու Ուկրաինային օգնելու համար, սակայն միանշանակ աջակցություն չէր ստացել։ Հանրապետականների մեծամասնությամբ Ներկայացուցիչների պալատը քվեարկել ՝էր միայն Թել Ավիվին աջակցելու օգտին, սակայն դեմոկրատների կողմից վերահսկվող Սենատը արգելափակել ՝ր նախաձեռնությունը:Բայդենը հայտարարել է, որ առանց Ուկրաինայի չի ստորագրի միայն Իսրայելին օգնություն հատկացնելու մասին օրինագիծը, եթե Կոնգրեսը հաստատի նման փաստաթուղթ։
