ԱՄՆ-ն ողջունում է Հայաստանի ու Ադրբեջանի միջև գերիների փոխանակումն ու հավատում է, որ երկու երկրների միջև խաղաղությունը շատ հավանական է։

Այս մասին լրագրողների հետ ճեպազրույցի հայտարարել է ԱՄՆ Պետքարտուղարության մամուլի ծառայության ղեկավար Մեթյու Միլլերը։

«Մենք ողջունում ենք հայ և ադրբեջանցի գերիների փոխանակում, որը տեղի է ունեցել այսօր, ինչպես նաև տեղեկություններ այն մասին, որ քննարկվում են վստահության ամրապնդմանն ուղղված լրացուցիչ միջոցներ։ Մենք շարունակելու ենք աշխատել Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի հետ՝ այդ գործընթացն առաջ տանելու համար։ Մենք նախկինի պես հավատում ենք, որ խաղաղությունը հնարավոր է, եթե երկու կողմերն էլ պատրաստ են հասնել դրան», - ասել է Պետդեպի ներկայացուցիչը։

Հիշեցնենք, որ դեկտեմբերի 7-ին ՀՀ վարչապետի աշխատակազմն ու Ադրբեջանի նախագահի վարչակազմը համատեղ հայտարարություն էին տարածել, որում ասվում էր, որ Ադրբեջանն ազատ է արձակում 32 հայ զինծառայողի, Հայաստանն էլ իր հերթին ազատ է արձակում դատապարտված 2 ադրբեջանցի զինծառայողի։

Ռազմագերիների փոխանակումը տեղի է ունեցել այսօր Ղազախ–Իջևան սահմանին, նրանք արդեն Հայաստանում են և քիչ առաջ բուժզննում են անցել «Մուրացանի» կենտրոնական հոսպիտալում։
