Իտալիայի նախկին վարչապետ Մարիո Դրագին դիտարկվում է որպես Եվրոպական խորհրդի նախագահի թեկնածու, գրում է Financial Times-ը՝ հղում անելով աղբյուրներին։
Եվրամիությունում հրատարակության զրուցակիցների կարծիքով՝ Դրագին «բոլոր հնարավորություններն ունի» դառնալու ներկայիս նախագահ Շառլ Միշելի իրավահաջորդը։
«Դրագին մի գործիչ է, որին շատ դժվար կլինի հակադրվել, եթե նրա թիկունքում իրական շարժիչ ուժ լինի: Այնուամենայնիվ, դեռ պարզ չէ, արդյոք ԵՄ-ն պատրաստ է իսկապես աջակցել նրան», - Իտալիայի միջազգային հարաբերությունների ինստիտուտի տնօրեն Նատալի Տոբին մեջբերում է FT-ն:
Նրա կանխատեսմամբ՝ Դրագին չի հրաժարվի նման պաշտոնից, եթե առաջարկ ստանա, սակայն ջանքեր չի գործադրի զբաղեցնելու Եվրոպական խորհրդի ղեկավարի պաշտոնը։
Միևնույն ժամանակ թերթի մեկ այլ աղբյուր հայտնել է, որ Իտալիայի նախկին վարչապետը «չի հավակնում ԵՄ առանցքային դիրքերից որևէ մեկին»։
Նախկինում հաղորդվում էր, որ Եվրոպական խորհրդի ղեկավար Շառլ Միշելը կարող է ժամկետից մի քանի ամիս շուտ լքել պաշտոնը։ Քաղաքական գործիչը մտադիր է հունիսի 6-9-ը կայանալիք Եվրախորհրդարանի ընտրություններին մասնակցել որպես իր ղեկավարած Բարեփոխումների շարժում կուսակցության ներկայացուցիչ։ Եթե նա մտնի Եվրախորհրդարան, Միշելը նախատեսում է հրաժարական տալ Եվրոպական խորհրդի ղեկավարի պաշտոնից, քանի որ երկու պաշտոնները միաժամանակ զբաղեցնելն արգելված է ԵՄ օրենսդրությամբ։
