Шевченко выступил против возвращения российских футболистов

Президент Украинской ассоциации футбола (УАФ) Андрей Шевченко считает, что российских футболистов еще рано возвращать на международную арену. Об этом он заявил Sky Sports News.
«Я хотел бы пригласить на Украину исполнительный комитет УЕФА и президента организации Александера Чеферина, чтобы он посмотрел, что происходит, поговорил с нами о наших проблемах, прежде чем принимать решение о допуске российских команд.
Я хочу показать текущую ситуацию на Украине. Не вижу никаких оснований давать возможность для возвращения российских команд. Необходимо усиливать давление на Россию», — сказал Шевченко.
Весной 2022 года Международная федерация футбола (ФИФА) и Союз европейских футбольных ассоциаций (УЕФА) приняли решение отстранить сборную России, а также все российские клубы от участия во всех соревнованиях, подконтрольных этим организациям.
Российские клубы, за исключением «Зенита», в 2022 году не провели в еврокубках ни одного матча. Сборная России под руководством Валерия Карпина в 2023 году сыграла шесть товарищеских встреч.
