ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղար Էնթոնի Բլինքենը հաստատել է, որ ՆԱՏՕ-ի դռները բաց են մնում Կիևի համար, սակայն չի հստակեցրել Ուկրաինայի՝ դաշինք մտնելու սպասվող ժամկետները։
«Կարծում եմ, որ գործընթացը, որը մենք տեսանք ռեկորդային ժամանակում՝ սկզբում Ֆինլանդիայի, իսկ այժմ՝ Շվեդիայի, ցույց է տալիս, որ ՆԱՏՕ-ի դռները բաց են մնում, այդ թվում՝ Ուկրաինայի՝ ՆԱՏՕ-ի անդամ դառնալու համար»,- ասել է Բլինքենը ՆԱՏՕ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Յենս Ստոլտենբերգի հետ Վաշինգտոնում տեղի ունեցած համատեղ ասուլիսում։
Բլինքենը հույս է հայտնել, որ Բուդապեշտը շուտով կվավերացնի ՆԱՏՕ-ին անդամակցելու Շվեդիայի դիմումը։
«Հունգարիան այժմ պետք է քայլեր ձեռնարկի Շվեդիային միանալու գործընթացն ավարտելու համար, բայց ես լիովին վստահ եմ, որ դա տեղի կունենա առաջիկա շաբաթների ընթացքում, երբ Հունգարիայի խորհրդարանը կվերսկսի աշխատանքը», – ասել է պետքարտուղարը։
2022 թվականի սեպտեմբերին Ուկրաինան արագացված հիմունքներով ՆԱՏՕ-ին անդամակցելու հայտ է ներկայացրել, իսկ 2023 թվականի հուլիսին Վիլնյուսում դաշինքի գագաթնաժողովում ստացել է երաշխիքներ, որ այն կընդունվի «երբ անհրաժեշտ պայմանները կատարվեն»։ ՆԱՏՕ-ի չափորոշիչները ներդրվում են երկրի զինված ուժերում, և սպաներից ծրագրվում է պահանջել վարժ տիրապետել անգլերենին: Բրյուսելում ընդունելության ժամկետներ չեն հայտարարվել։ Կազմակերպությունը բազմիցս ընդգծել է, որ Ուկրաինայի անդամակցությունը ՆԱՏՕ-ին անհնար է, քանի դեռ երկիրը գտնվում է կոնֆլիկտային վիճակում։
