Ռուսաստանի համար կարևոր է, որ Միջազգային քրեական դատարանին Հայաստանի դե յուրե և դե ֆակտո անդամակցությունը բացասաբար չանդրադառնա երկկողմ հարաբերությունների վրա. այս մասին, ՌԻԱ «Նովոստի»-ի փոխանցմամբ, լրագրողներին ասել է ՌԴ նախագահի մամուլի քարտուղար Դմիտրի Պեսկովը՝ արձագանքելով նրան, որ Հայաստանի համար այսօրվանից ուժի մեջ է մտնում Հռոմի ստատուտը:
«Ռուսաստանի համար կարևոր է, որ Միջազգային քրեական դատարանին Հայաստանի դե յուրե և դե ֆակտո անդամակցությունը բացասաբար չանդրադառնա երկկողմ հարաբերությունների վրա: Մոսկվայի համար այդ հարաբերությունները թանկ են»,-ասել է Պեսկովը:
Հայաստանն այսօր պաշտոնապես միանում է Միջազգային քրեական դատարանին․ Հայաստանի համար փետրվարի 1-ից ուժի մեջ է մտնում Հռոմի ստատուտը։
Հոկտեմբերի 3-ին Հայաստանի խորհրդարանը միայն իշխող «Քաղաքացիական պայմանագրի» 60 կողմ ձայնով վավերացրեց Հռոմի ստատուտը, իսկ նախագահ Վահագն Խաչատրյանն այն ստորագրեց հոկտեմբերի 14-ին, որից հետո արտաքին գործերի նախարարն այդ մասին տեղեկացրեց քրեական դատարանին:
Ազգային ժողովի քվեարկությունից մոտ երկու ժամ անց Կրեմլը հայտարարեց, որ Հռոմի ստատուտի վավերացումը ճիշտ քայլ չէ երկկողմ հարաբերությունների տեսանկյունից։ Երևանն իր հերթին հայտարարել է, որ Հռոմի ստատուտին միանալով ցանկանում է Ադրբեջանին պատասխանատվության ենթարկել ռազմական հանցագործությունների համար։
Մոսկվայի դժգոհության պատճառն այն է, որ անցած տարի Միջազգային քրեական դատարանը Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինի կալանավորման միջազգային օրդեր է տվել։
