Արևմուտքի և Ռուսաստանի պայքարը Հայաստանի համար գնալով թեժանում է։ Հարավային Կովկասում և Կենտրոնական Ասիայում ՆԱՏՕ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղարի հատուկ ներկայացուցիչ Խավիեր Կոլոմինան հարցազրույց է տվել և անդրադարձել հայ-թուրքական, հայ-ադրբեջանական հարաբերություններին։ Միևնույն ժամանակ Կոլոմինան հայտարարել է, որ ՆԱՏՕ-ում շատ գոհ են Հայաստանի հետ այսօր ունեցած երկկողմ հարաբերություններից։ «Մեզ շատ ոգևորում են նաև այն որոշումները, որոնք Հայաստանն ընդունել է արտաքին և պաշտպանական քաղաքականության մեջ, այն տեղաշարժը, որ նրանք որոշել են իրականացնել։ Ես գիտեմ, որ դա դժվար իրագործելի որոշում է և հավանաբար դրա իրագործումը երկար ժամանակ կպահանջի, բայց մենք խրախուսում ենք մեր գործընկերներին մերձենալ մեզ հետ և դա այն է, ինչ անում է Հայաստանը»,- նշել է Կոլոմինան։
ՆԱՏՕ-ի հատուկ բանագնացին արձագանքել է Ռուսաստանի ԱԳՆ պաշտոնական ներկայացուցիչ Մարիա Զախարովան՝ նշելով, թե՝ Հայաստանում պետք է վերլուծեն, թե որոնք են իրենց ազգային շահերը։ «Եթե որևէ մեկն ուզում է մերձենալ, նախ պետք է հասկանալ, թե որքանով է դա վտանգավոր և ինչ հետևանքների կարող է հանգեցնել»,- ուղիղ սպառնացել է ՌԴ ԱԳՆ ներկայացուցիչը, հավելել՝ թերևս պետք է նաև առաջնորդվել հիմնարար սկզբունքներով, բացել քարտեզը, տեսնել, թե ինչ տարածաշրջանում է գտնվում այդ երկիրը, կարդալ պատմության դասագրքերը։
Արտաքին քաղաքական վեկտորը փոխելու՝ Հայաստանի իշխանությունների քաղաքականությունը վաղուց է հարուցում Ռուսաստանի ակնհայտ դժգոհությունը և օրեցօր Ռուսաստանի ԱԳՆ-ն արդեն անցնում է բաց և թափանցիկ սպառնալիքների։
