Հեսսենի դաշնային նահանգի ղեկավար Բորիս Ռեյնն առաջարկել է Եվրոպային ստեղծել իր ռազմական դաշինքը՝ առանց ԱՄՆ-ի մասնակցության։ Այս մասին հայտնում է «ՌԻԱ Նովոստի»-ն։
Նրա խոսքով՝ միջուկային զինանոցը կարող է օգտագործվել զսպման նպատակներով։
Մինչ այս ՌԴ նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինը հայտարարել էր, որ Ռուսաստանը չի փչացրել հարաբերությունները Եվրոպայի հետ, եվրոպական երկրները դա արել են Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության հետ՝ անտեսելով նրա շահերը։ Երկրի ղեկավարի խոսքով՝ իրենք փորձել են Ռուսաստանին ինչ-որ տեղ մղել երկրորդ պլան՝ առանց պետության շահերը հաշվի առնելու։
Պուտինը նաև ասել է, որ Ռուսաստանի Դաշնությունը պատրաստ է հարաբերություններ կառուցել ԱՄՆ-ի հետ, սակայն պայմաններ դեռ չկան։
Ռուսաստանի արտգործնախարար Սերգեյ Լավրովը «Պրիմակովյան ընթերցումներ» միջազգային գիտական և փորձագիտական ֆորումում ասել է, որ Ռուսաստանը պետք է մտածի, թե ինչպես դադարեցնել կախվածությունը Եվրոպայի տնտեսական «շրջադարձերից»: Նրա խոսքով՝ այժմ կարիք չկա մտածել Եվրոպայի հետ հարաբերությունների վերականգնման ուղիների մասին։
