Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցու դեմ գործող իշխանությունների վերջին գործողությունները բնականորեն պետք է արժանանային ազգային մտածելակերպ ունեցող անձանց և ուժերի բուռն քննադատությանը։ Թերևս միակը «Հայկական երազանք» կուսակցությունն էր, որը բավականին մեծ խմբով ակցիա արեց՝ գնալով Մայր աթոռ և իր աջակցությունը հայտնելով Գարեգին Բ կաթողիկոսին։ «Հայկական երազանք» կուսակցության նախագահ Արմեն Մկրտչյանը հարցազրույց է տվել, նշել, որ Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցու դերն ամրագրված է Սահմանադրությամբ, իսկ իշխանությունը ցանկանում է Սահմանադրության փոփոխությամբ նվազեցնել եկեղեցու դերը, այլ կրոնական կազմակերպությունների հետ հավասար իրավունքներ տալ։

Արմեն Մկրտչյանը նշել է, որ օրենքով չարգելված միջոցներով կանգնելու են եկեղեցու կողքին, թույլ չեն տալու որևէ ոտնձգություն նրա հանդեպ։

«Հայկական երազանք» կուսակցության նախագահի կարծիքով՝ Սահմանադրության փոփոխություն նախաձեռնելով՝ Հայաստանի գործող իշխանությունները 4 առանցքային փոփոխություն են ցանկանում անել։ Առաջինը դա՝ Անկախության հռչակագրի այն կետն է, որով Հայաստանը ճանաչում է Արցախի գերագույն խորհրդի ինքնորոշման իրավունքը, երկրորդ՝ Հայաստանն իր հռչակագրում Հայոց ցեղասպանության պահանջատիրություն ու դատապարտում է ամրագրել, երրորդը՝ ինչպես նշեցինք, Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցու գերիշխող դերի նսեմացումն է, և չորրորդը՝ Արարատ լեռան պատկերով խորհրդանիշները հայ իրականությունից հեռացնելը՝ Թուրքիայի պահանջով։

Ըստ Մկրտչյանի՝ չի կարծում, թե գործող իշխանություններն իրենց կամքով կարող են դավաճանի պիտակ վերցնել։ Միգուցե ճնշումներ կան, միգուցե կարծում են, որ ճնշումներ կլինեն Թուրքիայից և Ադրբեջանից, ամեն դեպքում այդ փոփոխությունների փաստով, ըստ Արմեն Մկրտչյանի, բավարարված են լինելու մեր թշնամի երկու պետությունները, և պետք է ամեն օրինական գնով թույլ չտալ նման փոփոխություններ, որ նախաձեռնել է Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի իշխանությունը։
