Սաուդյան Արաբիայի գլխավորած արաբական դաշինքի երկրները հունիսի 2-ին ռմբակոծել են Եմենի հարավում գտնվող Ադեն քաղաքը: Ինչպես հաղորդում են արաբական լրատվամիջոցները, մասնավորապես, ռումբերն ուղղվել են Աթ Թաուահի շրջանում հոուսիների դիրքերին: Բացի այդ, մայրաքաղաք Սանան ցնցվել է ուժգին պայթյուններից: Ռումբերն ուղղվել են ռազմական հետախուզության և ԶՈՒ ղեկավարության նստավայրերի ուղղությամբ: Ռմբակոծվել են նաև Իբ և Օմրան նահանգներում շիաերի հսկողության տակ գտնվող տարածքները:

Ռմբակոծությունների հետևանքով տասնյակ զոհեր են գրանցվել, որոնց թիվը դեռ չի նշվել:

Տեղեկություններ են ստացվել, որ շիա ապստամբները թույլ չեն տվել Ադենի ծոցում կայանել մարադասիրական օգնությունների նավը և սկսել են կրակ բացել նավի ուղղությամբ: Մարդասիրական օգնությունն ուղարկել էր ՄԱԿ-ը. նավն Ադեն էր ուղևորվել Ջիբութիից:

Եմենում իրավիճակն առավել սրվել էր 2015թ.-ի հունվարից, երբ շիա ապստամբները գրավել էին մայրաքաղաք Սանան: Ապստամբների ճնշման տակ Նախագահ Աբդ Ռաբբո Մանսուր ալ Հադին և վարչապետ Խալեդ Բախախը հրաժարական էին տվել: Որոշ ժամանակ անց Նախագահ Մանսուր Հադին ստիպված փախուստի էր դիմել Ադեն, իսկ կարճ ժամանակ անց շիաների` մարտի 25-ին Ադեն մտնելուց հետո, հեռացել էր երկրից:

Նախագահը դիմել է Սաուդյան Արաբիային` խնդրելով միջամտել ստեղծված իրավիճակին: Մարտի 26-ին Սաուդյան Արաբիան Բահրեյնի, Քաթարի, Քուվեյթի, ԱՄԷ-ի օդային ուժերի օգնությամբ Եմենում սկսել է «Վճռականության փոթորիկ» գործողությունները, որի ավարտից հետո ռազմական գործողությունների մյուս փուլը կոչվել է «Հույսի վերականգնում»:
