2014 թվականի հունվարից ի վեր Իրաքում 18 հազարից ավելի խաղաղ բնակիչներ են զոհվել եւ ավելի քան 36 հազարը՝ վերքեր ստացել զինված հակամարտության հետեւանքով: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, ասված Է ՄԱԿ-ի Մարդու իրավունքների գերագույն կոմիսարի վարչության (ՄԻԳԿՎ) եւ ՄԱԿ-ի՝ Իրաքի աջակցման առաքելության (ԻԱԱ) համատեղ զեկույցում, որը հունվարի 19-ին հրապարակվել Է Ժնեւում:
«Քաղաքացիական բնակչությունը շարունակում Է տառապել Իրաքի հակամարտությունից: 2014 թվականի հունվարի 1-ից մինչեւ 2015 թվականի հոկտեմբերի 31-ը ՄԻԳԿՎ-ը եւ ԻԱԱ-ն հակամարտության հետեւանքով քաղաքացիական անձանց շրջանում գրանցել են առնվազն 55 հազար 47 սպանված եւ վիրավոր, այդ թվում՝ 18 հազար 802 մարդ սպանվել Է, իսկ 36 հազար 245-ը վերքեր են ստացել»,-նշվում Է փաստաթղթում:
Բազմաթիվ վկայությունների հիման վրա կազմված զեկույցի հեղինակները նշում են, որ 2015 թվականի մայիսի 1-ից մինչեւ հոկտեմբերի 31-ը սպանվել Է առնվազն 3855 մարդ եւ առնվազն 7056 բնակիչներ վիրավորվել են: Ընդգծվում Է, սակայն, որ «քաղաքացիական բնակչության շրջանում կորուստների իրական թիվը կարող Է զգալիորեն ավելի մեծ լինել», քանի որ զոհերի եւ տուժածների վերաբերյալ տվյալների ստուգումը դժվարությունների հետ Է կապված:
Փաստաթղթում ներկայացված տվյալների համաձայն՝ 2014 թվականի հունվարից մինչեւ 2015 թվականի սեպտեմբեր ավելի քան 3 մլն 200 հազար իրաքցիներ հարկադրված են եղել լքել իրենց տները: Նրանցից ավելի քան 1 միլիոնը դպրոցական տարիքի երեխաներ են, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
