Ученые обнаружили 10 мест кораблекрушений благодаря подсказкам из «Илиады» Гомера

Под голубыми волнами Эгейского моря недавно развернулись поиски, столь же эпические, как и в произведения древнегреческого поэта-сказителя Гомера. Исследователи, руководствуясь подсказками из его «Илиады», раскопали множество древних кораблекрушений, создав историю научных инноваций и морских тайн, пишет Popular Mechanics.

Греческий национальный исследовательский фонд совместно с Министерством культуры Греции провели четыре исследовательские миссии в водах вокруг острова Касос. Их цель была ясна: выявить затонувшие суда, упоминаемые в исторических документах, в том числе в исторической поэме Гомера. Согласно заявлению министерства, в подтверждение их тщательной стратегии и междисциплинарного подхода они успешно обнаружили 10 мест кораблекрушений, относящихся к различным историческим периодам.

Среди затопленных сокровищ исследователи обнаружили потрясающее множество артефактов, рассказывающих о древних торговых путях: испанскую амфору Dressel 20, на ручке которой была оттиснута печать, датируемая примерно 150 годом нашей эры, элегантные сосуды для питья, фляги римского периода и даже каменный якорь, относящийся к архаическому периоду.

Эпос из 24 книг, который, по мнению историков, был написан примерно в 750 года до н.э., повествует о Троянской войне, героями этой истории являются Елена Троянская, Парис, Ахилл и другие.
