ՏԻՄ ընտրությունների արդյունքները չեղարկելուց հետո Վան քաղաքի կենտրոնում հազարավոր մարդիկ անկարգություններ են կազմակերպել։ Բնակիչները քարեր ու ճայթռուկներ են նետել անվտանգության ուժերի վրա, որոնք պատասխանել են ջրցան մեքենաներով և արցունքաբեր գազի կիրառմամբ:
ՏԻՄ ընտրություններում հաղթել էր ընդդիմադիր Աբդուլլահ Զեյդանը, սակայն քվեարկության արդյունքները չեղարկել է Թուրքիայի արդարադատության նախարարությունը: Հաղթանակը շնորհվել է նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի կուսակցությունից թեկնածուին, թեև նա ստացել է ձայների ընդամենը 27%-ը։ Արդյունքում Զեյդանին աջակցող ցույցեր են սկսվել նահանգի գրեթե բոլոր քրդաբնակ քաղաքներում։
