Ադրբեջանն ու Հայաստանը պետք է իրենք լուծումը գտնեն: Ոչ ոք չի կարող խնդիրը լուծել ձեր փոխարեն։ Ոչ ոք չի կարող ձեզ լուծումներ պարտադրել։

Բրյուսելում «Ազատությանն» ասել է ԵՄ արտաքին հարաբերությունների խոսնակ Պետեր Ստանոն․

«Տարածքային ամբողջականության, ինքնիշխանության համար մենք ունենք միջազգային իրավունք։ Եվ Եվրամիությունը շատ հստակ մոտեցում ունի՝ պետք է հարգել միջազգային իրավունքը, այն չի կարող խախտվել։ Իսկ եթե կան խնդիրներ, ապա դրանք պետք է լուծվեն բանակցային սեղանի շուրջ։

Այդ իսկ պատճառով մենք մեծապես ներգրավված ենք աջակցելու Ադրբեջանի և Հայաստանի միջև բանակցությունների գործընթացին՝ լուծելու բոլոր առկա խնդիրները։ Եվրոպական խորհրդի նախագահ Շառլ Միշելը շատ է ներգրավված դրանում՝ բարձր ներկայացուցիչ Բորելի, ԵՄ հատուկ ներկայացուցիչ Տոյվո Կլաարի աջակցությամբ։

 Սա այն է, ինչ մենք արդեն անում ենք՝ աշխատում ենք երկու կողմերի հետ երկկողմ և եռակողմ ձևաչափերով՝ այդ գործընթացն առաջ տանելու համար: Բայց, ի վերջո, Ադրբեջանն ու Հայաստանը պետք է իրենք լուծումը գտնեն: Ոչ ոք չի կարող խնդիրը լուծել ձեր փոխարեն։ Ոչ ոք չի կարող ձեզ լուծումներ պարտադրել։ Մենք բոլորս՝ միջազգային հանրությունը միայն կարող ենք օգնել»։

Ստանոն հավելել է, որ Եվրամիությունն այստեղ չի կարող մրցավարի դեր խաղալ։ Չի կարող կարգավորման գործընթացում գլխավոր դերը ստանձնել․

«Մենք կարող ենք օժանդակ դեր խաղալ այլ գործընկերների հետ՝ ԱՄՆ-ի, ՄԱԿ-ի հետ, եթե կուզեք, քանի որ խոսքը միջազգային իրավունքի հարգման մասին է։ Մենք ոչ թե լծակ ենք գործադրում, ոչ թե պարտադրանք՝ ինչ-որ մեկին ստիպելու ինչ-որ բան անել, այլ առաջարկում ենք մեր ծառայությունները, մեր լավագույն փորձը և մեր լավ մտադրությունները՝ օգնելու կողմերին լուծում գտնել։ Վերջ ի վերջո, կրկին ընդգծեմ՝ Ադրբեջանն ու Հայաստանն է, որ պետք է պայմանավորվեն։

Եվրամիությունը նույն դիրքորոշումն ունի ամբողջ աշխարհում: Եթե մենք մի փոքր հեռանանք և դա դիտարկենք ավելի լայն տեսանկյունից, ապա Եվրամիությունը նպաստում է Սերբիայի և Կոսովոյի միջև հարաբերությունների կարգավորմանը, որ շարունակվում է ավելի քան 10 տարի, և այս երկրները շատ ավելի մոտ են Եվրամիությանը։ Մենք հեշտացնում ենք գործընթացը, բայց չենք կարող ստիպել նրանց լուծում գտնել, քանի դեռ նրանք չեն տեսնում, որ այս լուծումը երկուսի համար էլ լավ փոխզիջում է։ Նույնն է Իսրայելի և Պաղեստինի դեպքում։ Այնտեղ շատ երկար ժամանակ կարգավորման գործընթաց է եղել, բայց քանի դեռ երկու կողմերը պատրաստ չեն, ուրիշ ոչ ոք չի կարող լուծում պարտադրել։

Մենք երկրներին և գործընկերներին ինչ-որ բան պարտադրելու գործով չենք զբաղվում։ Մենք շեշտում ենք միջազգային իրավունքը հարգելու անհրաժեշտությունը։ Մենք շեշտում ենք հաշտության, բարիդրացիական հարաբերությունների անհրաժեշտությունը, քանի որ դրանք քաղաքակիրթ կյանքի սկզբունքներն են։ ԵՄ-ում մենք ապրում ենք 21-րդ դարում, իսկ 21-րդ դարում հարցերը լուծում են քննարկումների միջոցով, ոչ թե ուժով»։
