Ինչպես վազքի մրցումներն ընդլայնվեցին՝ դառնալով օլիմպիական խաղերի անբաժան մաս. «Փաստ»

«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

Թեթև ատլետիկան հնագույն մարզաձև է։ Առաջին սպորտաձևը համարվում է վազքը։ Հին հույները վազքում մրցել են մեկ փուլով, որը հավասար է եղել 192 մետրի, և առաջին չեմպիոնը մ.թ.ա 776 թվականին Կորեբուս անունով մի մարդ էր Էլիս քաղաքից: Հին Հունաստանի մրցումները նման չեն նրանց, որ մենք սովոր ենք տեսնել հիմա։ Մարզիկները հեռացատկել են ձեռքներին կշռաքարերով, որոնք պատրաստված էին քարից կամ մետաղից և կշռում էին մոտ մեկուկես կիլոգրամ։ Հույները կարծում էին, որ դա օգնում է ճիշտ վայրէջք կատարել: Նետելու համար նախատեսված սկավառակները երկաթից, քարից ու բրոնզից էին, մակերեսին՝ կենդանիների ու թռչունների պատկերներ, և կշռում էին մեկից մինչև վեց կիլոգրամ։

Պահպանվել են ծաղկամաններ և խճանկարներ մրցույթների դրվագներով։ Դրանք պատկերում են վազորդների, հեռացատկորդների, սկավառականետների և նիզականետների, ընդ որում՝ և՛ տղամարդկանց, և՛ կանանց։ Կանայք պատկերված են լողազգեստ հիշեցնող տարազներով։ Հին հույները այդ մրցումներն անվանում էին Օլիմպիական խաղեր: Հաղթողներին շնորհվում էին ձիթենու տերևներով պսակներ, նաև նրանց հուշարձաններն էին կանգնեցվում՝ քարե սալերի վրա նրանց անուններով ։ Մեր ժամանակներում ատլետիկայի մասին առաջին հիշատակումը վերաբերում է 1837 թվականին: Այդ տարի Անգլիայում՝ Ռեգբի քաղաքում, տեղի ունեցավ մրցույթ, որտեղ քոլեջներից մեկի ուսանողները վազեցին երկու կիլոմետր տարածություն։ Այդ մրցույթը բավականին մեծ թվով մարդկանց գրավեց, ուստի դրանք դարձան կանոնավոր։

Նմանատիպ մրցույթներ սկսեցին անցկացնել նաև այլ ուսումնական հաստատություններում։ Մի քանի տարի անց մասնակիցները սկսեցին մրցել արագավազքի և նետման մեջ։ 19-րդ դարի հիսնական թվականներին ավելացվեցին այնպիսի դիսցիպլիններ, ինչպես հեռացատկը, բարձրացատկը, գնդի հրումն ու սկավառակի նետումը։ 1865 թվականին Անգլիայում անցկացվեցին խոշոր մրցումներ, որոնց առիթը Լոնդոնի ատլետիկայի ակումբի բացումն էր։ Եվրոպական երկրները սկսեցին մրցումներ անցկացնել շատ ավելի ուշ։ Միայն 1890 թվականին սկսեցին կանոնավոր կերպով անցկացվել ամենամյա մրցումներն ու առաջնությունները։

1896 թվականին Աթենքում տեղի ունեցան առաջին օլիմպիական խաղերը։ Մրցույթը ներառում էր տասներկու դիսցիպլին, սակայն դրանց մասնակցում էր միայն մի քանի երկիր։ Ատլետիկայի մրցույթները կանանց համար սկսել են անցկացվել 20-րդ դարի սկզբին հինգ դիսցիպլիններում, որոնց թիվը տարեցտարի ավելացել է և մինչև 1996 թվականը հասել քսանի: 21-րդ դարի սկզբին ավելացել են հետևյալները՝ մուրճի նետում, ձողացատկ և 3000 մետր արգելավազք։ Ներկայում պրոֆեսիոնալ թեթև ատլետների հիմնական խնդիրը դոպինգն է։
