Ապրիլի 14-ի վաղ առավոտյան Իրանը սկսեց «Ազնիվ խոստում» կոդային անվանումով պատասխան ռազմագործողությունը, որի շրջանակում, ըստ մի շարք աղբյուրների, Իսրայելի դեմ արձակվել է 185 «Շահիդ» տեսակի ԱԹՍ, 110 բալիստիկ, 36 թևավոր հրթիռներ:
Սա պատասխան էր ապրիլի 1-ին Իսրայելի կողմից Դամասկոսում Իրանի հյուպատոսության խոցման, ինչի հետևանքով Իսլամական Հանրապետության բարձրաստիճան գեներալներ էին զոհվել:
Իսրայելի հաղորդմամբ՝ դաշնակիցների հետ համատեղ որսացել են արձակած շուրջ 300 անօդաչու թռչող սարքերի և հրթիռների «ճնշող մեծամասնությունը»:
Սա Իսլամական Հանրապետության առաջին ուղիղ հարձակումն էր Իսրայելի վրա:
Մի շարք երկրներ դատապարտել են իրանական հարձակումը, Վաշինգտոնը վերահաստատել է աջակցությունը Երուսաղեմին:
Չնայած իրավիճակի դրամիտիզմին՝ չենք կարծում է, թե մեծ պատերազմի հավանականությունը մեծ է: Նման շահագրգռություն ունի Իսրայելը, որին Մերձավոր Արևելքում ազդեցություն հաստատելու համար հիմնական խոչընդոտ է հանդիսանում Իրանը:
Մյուս կողմից, Թեհրանը և Վաշինգտոնն ակնհայտորեն մեծ պատերազմի մտադրություն չունեն:
Իսրայելի դեմ գործողությունը սպասվածից ավելի հաջողված էր, շարունակելու մտադրություն չկա, հայտարարել է Իրանի ԳՇ-ն։
ԱՄՆ նախագահը, ըստ Սպիտակ տան պաշտոնյայի, նախազգուշացրել է Իսրայելի վարչապետին, որ Նահանգները չի մասնակցի Իրանի դեմ հակահարձակմանը, եթե Իսրայելը որոշի պատասխան հարված հասցնել։
Սա առնվազն նշանակում է, որ ԱՄՆ-ը չի աջակցում Իսրայելի ագրեսիվ նկրտումներին և մեծ ճնշում է բանեցնում Երուսաղեմի վրա՝ հնարավոր պատերազմը կանխելու համար: Այս փաստը, անշուշտ, պետք է արձանագրել Իրանի դիվանագիտական ակտիվում:
