Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը Հայոց ցեղասպանության կապակցությամբ հղել է ապրիլքսանչորսյան ցավակցական ուղերձ, որը նա 2012 թվականից ի վեր հղում է Թուրքիայի Հայոց պատրիարքարանին և հայ համայնքին, հայտնում է agos.com.tr-ն։
«Այսօր ևս մեկ անգամ հարգանքով եմ հիշում Առաջին համաշխարհային պատերազմի անբարենպաստ պայմաններում իրենց կյանքը կորցրած Օսմանյան կայսրության հայ քաղաքացիներին և իմ ցավակցությունն եմ հայտնում նրանց ժառանգներին։ Ես աղոթում եմ և Աստծո ողորմությունն եմ հայցում օսմանյան հասարակության բոլոր անդամների համար, որոնք զոհվել կամ նահատակվել են հակամարտությունների, ապստամբությունների, խմբավորումների շարժումների և ահաբեկչական գործողությունների պատճառով», - ասված է ուղերձում:
Էրդողանի խոսքով՝ «օսմանյան տարածքներում Առաջին համաշխարհային պատերազմի պատճառած ավերածությունները խոր հետքեր են թողել իրենց հիշողություններում»։
«Մեր նախնիներից ժառանգած խաղաղության և հանգստության մթնոլորտի շարունակությունը հնարավոր է միայն մեր համատեղ ջանքերով։ Անատոլիական հողերն իրենց մշակութային ու մարդկային գործերով հարստացած մեր հայ քաղաքացիների անվտանգությունը, բարեկեցությունն ու երջանկությունն այսօր էլ երաշխավորված են։ Մենք թույլ չենք տա, որ թեկուզ մեկ հայ քաղաքացի մարգինալացվի, դուրս մնա, իրեն երկրորդ կարգի զգա իր հայրենիքում։ Կարևոր է, որ պատմության իրադարձություններին անդրադառնանք մտքի, խղճի և գիտության առաջնորդությամբ՝ առանց տեղիք տալով արմատական դիսկուրսներին, մարգինալացմանը և ատելության լեզվին: Կարեկցանքի հաստատումը, առանց տարանջատելու մեր ազգային հիշողության մեջ դաջված իրադարձությունները, կկանխի նաև ատելության սերմերի արմատավորումը։ Մենք հավատում ենք, որ ապագա սերունդներին աշխարհը շրջապատող բռնության և պատերազմի պարույրից պաշտպանելու ճանապարհը մեր ապագան միասին կառուցելն է՝ այն դասերի լույսի ներքո, որոնք մենք կքաղենք մեր ընդհանուր ցավից», - ասված է ուղարձում։
