ՀՀ ԳԱԱ Արևելագիտության ինստիտուտի ֆեյսբուքյան էջում հայտնում են, որ կայքնից հեռացել է պ.գ.դ., պրոֆ. Նիկոլայ Հովհաննիսյանը:
«Մեծագույն ցավով տեղեկացնում ենք, որ 2024 թ. ապրիլի 24-ին կյանքից հեռացել է ականավոր գիտնական և հասարակական գործիչ, ՀՀ ԳԱԱ թղթակից անդամ, Արևելագիտության ինստիտուտի տնօրեն (1995-2006 թթ.), հայ ժամանակակից արաբագիտական պատմագիտական դպրոցի հիմնադիր, պ.գ.դ., պրոֆ. Նիկոլայ Հովհաննեսի Հովհաննիսյանը:
Նա ծնվել է 1930 թ. հունիսի 10-ին, Լենինականում (ներկայիս Գյումրի): 1953 թ. ավարտել է Երևանի պետական համալսարանի միջազգային հարաբերությունների ֆակուլտետը, իսկ 1956 թ.՝ ասպիրանտուրան: 1968 թ. ստացել է պատմական գիտությունների դոկտորի գիտական աստիճան, իսկ 1971 թ.` պրոֆեսորի գիտական կոչում: 2006 թ. ընտրվել է ՀՀ Գիտությունների ազգային ակադեմիայի թղթակից անդամ: Հայաստանի գիտության վաստակավոր գործիչ է:
Պրոֆեսոր Հովհաննիսյանը ՀՀ ԳԱԱ Արևելագիտության ինստիտուտի և արդի հայ արևելագիտության հիմնադիրներից է: Նրա ջանքերով Հայաստանում հիմնադրվեց, կայացավ և արևելագիտության ոլորտում իր ուրույն տեղը գրավեց հայ արաբագիտությունը: Նա ՀՀ-ում ժամանակակից արաբագիտական պատմագիտական դպրոցի կարևոր հիմնասյուներից էր և ավելի քան քառասուն տարի (1962-2003 թթ.) գլխավորել է արաբական երկրների բաժինը:
Արևելագիտության ինստիտուտի բոլոր գործընկերների անունից մեր խորին ցավակցություն ենք հայտնում Նիկոլայ Հովհաննիսյանի ընտանիքին՝ կնոջն ու հարազատներին, ինչպես նաև սաներին: Հանձնառու ենք պահպանել, շարունակել ու զարգացնել արաբագիտական պատմագիտական այն դպրոցի ավանդույթները, որի հիմքը դրել է պրոֆ. Հովհաննիսյանը:
Հոգեհանգիստը տեղի կունենա ապրիլի 25-ին ժամը 18:00-ին, Զոլեր սգո սրահում, որը գտնվում է Գ. Հասրաթյան փ. 25/3 հացեում (Շահումյանի գերեզմանատան հարևանությամբ), հուղարկավորությունը՝ ապրիլի 26-ին, ժամը 14:00-ին նույն հասցեից»:
