ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենը, մերժելով պաղեստինամետ ցուցարարների քննադատությունը, վճռականորեն պաշտպանել է Իսրայելը՝ ասելով, որ իսրայելական ուժերը Գազայում, ՀԱՄԱՍ-ի զինյալների դեմ իրենց ռազմական արշավում, ցեղասպանություն չեն իրականացնում: Այս մասին գրում է Reuters-ը:
«Այն, ինչ կատարվում է Գազայում, ցեղասպանություն չէ: Մենք դա մերժում ենք», - ասել է Բայդենը Սպիտակ տանը հրեական ամերիկյան ժառանգության միամսյակի միջոցառմանը:
Բայդենը երկրում բազմաթիվ միջոցառումների ժամանակ բախվել է պաղեստինամետ ցուցարարների բողոքի ակցիաներին. ցուցարարները նրան անվանել են «Ցեղասպան Ջո»՝ Իսրայելին իր հաստատակամ աջակցության համար:
Սպիտակ տան միջոցառման ժամանակ Բայդենը ընդգծել է համոզմունքը, որ Իսրայելը զոհ է դարձել հոկտեմբերի 7-ին ՀԱՄԱՍ-ի զինյալների հարձակմանը:
Նա ասել է, որ ԱՄՆ աջակցությունն իսրայելցիների անվտանգությանն ու ապահովությանը «երկաթե է»:
«Մենք Իսրայելի կողքին ենք, որպեսզի դուրս բերենք (ՀԱՄԱՍ-ի առաջնորդ Յահյա) Սինվարին և ՀԱՄԱՍ-ի մնացած դահիճներին: Մենք ցանկանում ենք, որ ՀԱՄԱՍ-ը պարտվի: Մենք աշխատում ենք Իսրայելի հետ, որպեսզի դա իրականանա»,- ասել է նա:
Իսրայելցի պատադներին ազատելու շուրջ Իսրայելի և ՀԱՄԱՍ-ի միջև բանակցությունները փակուղի են մտել, սակայն Բայդենը խոստացել է չհրաժարվել նրանց ազատմանը հասնելու փորձերից:
«Մենք պատրաստվում ենք նրանց տուն բերել, ինչ էլ որ լինի մենք նրանց տուն ենք բերելու»,- ասել է Բայդենը:
Բայդենը նաև կոչ է արել անհապաղ հրադադար հաստատել Գազայում։
ԱՄՆ նախագահը նաև մերժել է Միջազգային քրեական դատարանի դատախազին այն բանի համար, որ նա խնդրել է ձերբակալել Իսրայելի վարչապետ Բենիամին Նեթանյահուին և պաշտպանության ղեկավարին՝ ենթադրյալ ռազմական հանցագործությունների համար: ՄՔԴ-ի դատախազը երկուշաբթի նաև հայտնել էր, որ պահանջել է ՀԱՄԱՍ-ի ղեկավար Սինվարի և ՀԱՄԱՍ-ի ևս երկու առաջնորդի ձերբակալման օրդերի տրամադրում:
Իսրայելի ռազմական գործողության հետևանքով Պաղեստինի զոհերի թիվը, ըստ Գազայի առողջապահության նախարարության, հասել է ավելի քան 35,000-ի, իսկ Իսրայելի պաշարումը սարսափելի մարդասիրական պայմաններ է ստեղծել անկլավում:
