Իրանի նախագահի աշխատակազմի ղեկավար Ղոլամ Հոսեյն Էսմայիլին պատմել է նախագահ Էբրահիմ Ռաիսիի ուղղաթիռի կործանման նոր մանրամասները։ Ինքը՝ վարչակազմի ղեկավարը, թռել է մյուս ուղղաթիռով, որը բարեհաջող վայրէջք է կատարել։
Քաղաքական գործչի խոսքով՝ թռիչքի ընթացքում եղանակային պայմանները նորմալ են եղել։
«Դա մառախուղ չէր. միգուցե կիրճի խորքում մառախուղ կար, բայց մեր թռիչքի ճանապարհին մառախուղ չկար։ Ամպերը մի փոքր ավելի բարձր էին, քան ուղղաթիռը»,- ասել է պաշտոնյան, որի խոսքը մեջբերում է IRNA-ն:
Ըստ Էսմայիլիի՝ նախագահի ուղղաթիռի օդաչուն հրամայել է բոլոր ուղղաթիռներին բարձրանալ ամպերից վեր։ Օդաչուները ենթարկվել են հրամանին: Դրանից մոտ 30 վայրկյան անց ուղղաթիռի անձնակազմը նկատել է նախագահական ուղղաթիռի անհետացումը ։Դրանից հետո օդաչուն մի քանի շրջան է կատարել՝ փորձելով գտնել նախագահին և արտգործնախարարին տեղափոխող ուղղաթիռը կամ կապվել անձնակազմից կամ ուղևորներից մեկի հետ։ Մեկուկես րոպե հնարավոր չի եղել կապ հաստատել. արդեն այն ժամանակ ենթադրվում էր, որ Bell 212-ը վթարի է ենթարկվել:
Այնուհետև կապ է հաստատել Իրանի Թավրիզ քաղաքի Ջումա մզկիթի իմամ Սայեդ Մոհամմադ Ալի ալ-Հաշեմը։ Նա եղել է անհետացած ուղղաթիռում և հայտնել է կործանման մասին։ Նրա հետ կապը պահպանվել է մահվանը նախորդած մի քանի ժամվա ընթացքում։
Մայիսի 19-ին կործանվել է Իրանի նախագահի ուղղաթիռը։ Մայիսի 20-ի առավոտյան նախագահական ուղղաթիռի ածխացած բեկորները հայտնաբերվել են իրանական Թավիլ գյուղի մոտ՝ Ադրբեջանի հետ սահմանից 30 կմ հեռավորության վրա։ Բոլոր ուղևորները զոհվել են։ Իրանի հարևան որոշ երկրներ սուգ են հայտարարել։
