Իրանի նախագահի աշխատակազմի ղեկավար Ղոլամ-Հոսեյն Էսմայիլին, ով թռիչքի ժամանակ մեկ այլ ուղղաթիռով գտնվել է նախագահ Էբրահիմ Ռաիսիի կործանված Bell 212-ի հետ նույն օդային շարասյունում, բացահայտել է աղետի մանրամասները և դրան հաջորդած իրադարձությունները։ Նրա խոսքերը մեջբերում է իրանական IRNA գործակալությունը։
Նրա խոսքով՝ խմբում ընդհանուր առմամբ եղել է երեք ուղղաթիռ, որոնցից երկուսը բարեհաջող վայրէջք է կատարել։
Էսմայիլին ասել է, որ թռիչքի ընթացքում եղանակային պայմանները նորմալ են եղել։ Ամպամածություն է նկատվել Արևելյան Ադրբեջան նահանգի Սունգուն պղնձի հանքավայրի տարածքում, որտեղ տեղի է ունեցել վթարը։ Էսմայիլին հավելել է, որ լեռներում, կիրճում հնարավոր է՝ մառախուղ է եղել, սակայն իրենց թռիչքի երթուղում մառախուղ չի նկատվել։
«Դա մառախուղ չէր։ Հնարավոր է, որ կիրճի խորքում մառախուղ է եղել, բայց մեր թռիչքի ճանապարհին մառախուղ չի եղել»,- ասել է նա:
Նա նաև ընդգծել է, որ ուղղաթիռի վերևում ամպեր են եղել։ Նախագահին տեղափոխող ուղղաթիռի օդաչուն հրամայել է նրանց բարձրանալ ավելի բարձր և շարունակել թռչել ամպերի վրայով։ Դրանից մոտ 30 վայրկյան հետո պարզ է դարձել, որ նախագահի ուղղաթիռն անհետացել է։
