Национальный демократический альянс (NDA - National Democratic Alliance), возглавляемый Народной партией Индии (BJP - Bharatiya Janata Party) премьер-министра Нарендры Моди, получил 293 из 543 мест в Лок Сабхе, нижней палате индийского парламента. Oб этом сообщает The Times of India.
Индийская народная партия заняла первое место с 240 мандатами, но ей не хватило 272 голосов, необходимых для большинства. Для формирования правительства БДП понадобится поддержка возглавляемого ею альянса NDA. На предыдущих выборах 2019 года БДП получила 303 места, а НДА - 352 места.
Обозреватели в Индии отмечают значимый успех оппозиции. Индийский национальный инклюзивный альянс развития (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance), включающий 28 партий, получил 234 мандата. Ведущая партия альянса “Индийский национальный конгресс” увеличила свое представительство в нижней палате с 52 до 99.
Нарендра Моди стремится стать главой правительства Индии уже в третий раз подряд.
Выборы, прошедшие в Индии, стали крупнейшими в мире. Они стартовали 19 апреля и прошли в семь туров. На выборах было зарегистрировано почти 1 миллиард избирателей.
