His latest role sees him playing a wild-haired woodman opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in The Revenant

'It's not as if people are frightened of me when they meet me socially,' Hardy, here in Legend, said - admitting he is as scared of the bad guys he plays as anyone else is

The actor, seen here with a bodyguard at the Groucho club after the premiere of The Revenant, first got involved in drugs as a teenager, getting expelled from his boarding school aged 16 for stealing

Hardy, pictured here in 2009's Bronson, said acting was the only thing that saved him from a life of drugs

Hardy admitted he was a 'very lucky boy' for all the opportunities he had had recently, including Mad Max

He recently became a father for the second time, an experience he said 'changed' his life. Pictured with Leonardo DiCaprio at the London premiere of The Revenant
